Goran Dragic

Post#1 » by Twuan89 » Sun Jun 23, 2013 9:26 pm

For some reason I just have a feeling that Dragic is going to have a even better season in 2013/2014. If im correct Dragic averaged 16 & 9 after the all-star break, plus Dragic may be playing with either Victor Oladipo or Ben McLemore which will take a lot of pressure off him. Goran Dragic is very talented, he's a confident, tough and clutch player. He has hit some big shots for us, and I expect him to do more of the same this upcoming season. I just think he will have a better season in 2014.

What do you think?

Best player on the team, and it seems like he gives 100% every night. Like you said, he was on fire post-all star break, so hopefully he keeps up that level of play next season.

Agreed. He's going to put up some really nice numbers next year with more talent around him and more stability. I also think Hornacek is going to be great for Dragic. I think he understands Dragic is our best player and he is best in an up tempo offense. I think we're going to see a much higher pace than we have in awhile. Should be pretty exciting.

That talent will be made up by rookies and guys like Gortat and/or Scola could be gone. I don't think it's a guarantee he'll put up better numbers

Its really tough to say as I think Horny's system will be the biggest factor on Dragic's production and as it currently stands we don't have much to go on till we see it in action. Also, like DirtyDez said, if Gortat/Scola/Dudley etc. are moved, Dragic's numbers may also go down.

However, I think his game and the team in general will be more exciting with rookies and other young athletic guys. Hopefully some of these guys show some potential to be part of our long-term building plans.

The numbers may not be there, but the excitement should be.

If that makes sense,

The thing I don't like about Dragic is that every year he sucks in the first half of the season and then does well in the 2nd half. Whether its in PHX or Houston, he always blows the first half and then plays spectacular in the second half.

I would love it if he can play the whole the same way he does in the second half of the every season.

Cant really use last yrs start as data... throw it out... Dragic had too many new faces and he was one of them. They all had to learn to play together. It was muddled from the get go.

One good FA, one top pick.... and the Dragon will be fired up.

the assumption that next season will be better than this is flawed. We'll most likely trade any certain talent we have (Duds, Gortat, Scola) for rookies or picks and have an awful building season where our joy will be in watching players develop.

Dragic is already one of the most developed players we'll have on board, so no...I don't see him getting better numbers next year.

2014/15 is another story, though.

I'm thinking somewhere around 17&11. With no ball hoggers on the team (Beasley & Brown) and a little better execution from the team, these numbers would happen last season. Since takin the starting point, he really didnt have a star teammate. If he had one, that would be awesome.

I would love to see Dragic get more minutes this year. He could average in the 36-39 range and be fine.

I think he'll do similar to last year, maybe more minutes. Anything less than 15 and 7 I'd be disappointed.

skoru you realise only Chris Paul (x2) and Nash have done 17 and 11 since 90-91 ay? I don't see Dragic doing it, although stranger things have happened, and he'd need Marshall gone so he's not looking over his shoulder

lets trade Dragic and Gortat to Milwaukee and get Jennings, Henson, and Dalembert
also get T-Rob for a 2nd and trade one of the morris for the 2nd to acquire t-rob

Jennings, Marshall
Goodwin, Lee
Beasley, Dudley
T-Rob, Henson
Len, Dalembert

You're obviously new here and I'm guessing this was your first trade you've ever made but that trade is not that good. If we were to trade our two best players we should get something a lot better.

Nah man if we're trading Dragic and Jennings, we should get more than Jennings who is a FA and Dalembert whose not exactly a top center..he's an old average C. Henson is the only good value we're getting back. And I think T-Rob will cost us more than one of the Morris twins which is what your saying.

I know usually people here are bi****ing and complaining about how much they hate Sarver and how the Suns won't be good til he sells the team etc....now people are eating the McNuggets that McDonough is serving up.

I like it! This place isn't doom and gloom anymore!
