He passed on him because of questions regarding whether or not he could score at this level/develop a jump shot.

So he took a guy he liked who can't score at this level and has not developed a jump shot.

The other guy has, and it was obvious to everyone, even armchair experts on an internet forum.

EG should be out on his arse just for that let alone anything else he has bungled.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

The reason why I was not impressed by Danny green is if I was playing against him I'd find him one dimensional. His only skill set imo is shooting from three. Granted he did good at the beginning of the series but it's not sustainable as shown later, and when that happens he hurts you with his floor game more than helps you.

He wasn't particularly good on the boards, turned the ball off passes and turn overs caused when he drove but he can't drive all the way to the rim so picks the ball up. He then attempts to pass it giving few options, his head was not in the game nd doesn't seem mentally tough to me.

The major thing was his defense, I found it atrocious, if I was playing against him I'd have a field day. He gave Wade he same shot over and over from a beam the free throw line. D Wade would deliberately go to that spot. He literally would walk into it. LeBron shot so many three pointers and the first one he was given so much room, and it kept happening.. They allowed him to get into rhythm giving him time and space is. He is not a good iso defender. There's nothing much speration between say him and nick young or another soon to be specialist southerland. I can see why Danny was passed on a few times.

He can be better and he had a good run but imo it was an outlier. It's almost like Jeremy lin where people forgot the flaws that had him passed over in the first place

I think giving up the open jumpers was by design.

Yeah, and it worked for 5 games. It's a weird thing, but sometimes it's harder to shoot a wide open 18 footer than it is to hit one with a defender rushing towards you. Basically, Popovich was playing mind games with Lebron and Wade and it worked for 5 games.

Danny Green is generally known as a very good defender.

Good call, jim. Totally forgot.

Or maybe I was just hoping the Heat winning was all a dream and I'd check back in this thread to see the SA actually won. LOL

Note that Wil Barton had a great game for Portland -- how tragic it would have been had we picked him instead of Satoransky, don't you think?

Yeah, I expect VO to have a good year. So much spring in his step.

Bennett looks like he got hot in the 4th from what I heard. Big boy. Lets see if he can stay healthy.

Yep, VO is a stud right out of the gate. No-wonder Flip was trying so-hard to trade-up to get him, but he apparently didn't want to give up Derrick Williams IIRC.

Just watched a replay of the 4th quarter. Bennett showed ability to be a clutch go-to scorer with those 3s.

I was more interested in seeing his defense, after the many discussions here regarding his potential shortcomings there. I did see some examples of his height and arm length (along with court awareness issues) hindering his ability to stop, and he also looked pretty winded toward the end. I also saw him successfully use his body to prevent opponents getting position, and he definitely showed intensity on defense a number of times. If he works on conditioning and court awareness, I could see him becoming a plus (or at least not a minus) in a good team defense.

Man.. Rose is gonna be even better this season.

I know we all want Wall to eventually be as good as Rose, but the difference between them is so drastic. Routine, typical plays Rose makes would be plays that we'd only see from Wall on his absolute best days.

^^^ yea rose can attack with power or finesse, wall is jus a finesse player...rose also almost always scores thru contact...
But those are things wall can add to his game as he gets stronger...hopefully this year it can happen

Didn't see that game, but the pieced-together LA Lakers beat the Clips last night. Anyone see the game?

Wall can be like rose...the difference between rose/westbrook and wall is there reputation...rose and westbrook are known for dunking on defenders...tht mske defenders play more cautiously when attacking, considering they csn explode at any 2nd for a big dunk...
Wall is capable but doesn't play with tht ferociousness anymore

Another thing Is how they handle the break...almost every fast break rose forces the issue...something wall did during his highlight months earlier this yr.. (I guess cause beal was out) but on those fast breaks he didnt kick out to the shooter most of the time...he went for the score..I feel lik wall played so good last yr because he didnt trust his teammates too much

Another thing...paul george is good..really good...I kno it was jus the magic (they wanted to lose) but paul george is goin to b an mvp canidate this yr

Lakers game was weird...chris paul has become to passive...I dont kno how the lakers won...but tht bemch unit wouldnt miss a shot...and really played with alot of energy on defense

I didn't see the game, but I was really surprised to see that. It looks like the Lakers went small and some of the bench guys shot very well - although not Wesley Johnson(1-11).
