Hendo Vs Shabazz

Post#1 » by BigSlam » Mon Jun 24, 2013 1:22 am

Existing Player Vs Potential Player.

Based on what Cho said (we should draft BPA regardless of position) I thought this might be interesting. I'll make several of these over the next week.

Who would you choose to move forward with as a Bobcats player and why?

I went with Shabazz.

I think we have good defence with Kemba, MKG and Biz (not to mention JT). What we really need is someone who can fill it up and average 20+ppg.

I think Shabazz has the potential to be that someone.

I honestly find this decision harder to choose from than the others. It's a draw for me, so I'll opt not to vote

At least Shabazz will have a role. Henderson still lacks one after 3 years of steady playing time. A solid but not spectacular starter at SG who doesn't have consistent range and goes through stretches of you forgetting hes on the floor.

Funny how everyone has Shabazz penciled in as a 20ppg scorer (I do too) yet almost noone wants him in the lottery

Henderson.

Too much baggage with Muhammed.

I would rather have McCollum then Shabazz....

He has more of a creative game when it comes to scoring and passing. His ability off the bounce is probably better than anybody elses in the draft and he can really shoot it.

Only worries with McCollum is his competition, he is a combo guard, and he is not a defensive specialist by any means. However, he had big games against tough competition and he was almost always the focus of the defense and still got his numbers. I would think his efficiency would sky if he could be 3rd option on a team.

I'd rather have Mclemore or Oladipo over Henderson, but I'd rather have Henderson over Shabazz.

I wanted to go Bazz but the big question is who will he guard in the league? We know Hendo is a good defender.

Me.

If we reach for Bazz (or preferably trade back to get him), I'd like to see him and Hendo play together or have Bazz backup Hendo like Harden did for Sefolosha. We could easily go stretches with Kemba/Hendo/Bazz/MKG/any big. That is a niiiiice small ball lineup.

Don't think of these as who you would take at position #4 - think of it purely as a head to head comparison.

my issue with Muhammad all along has been value. I think he'll actually contribute in the nba and is one of the more solid projections going forward. I just wonder how efficient he'll be, average or somewhere above average.

I think his skill set would slot in nicely on the bobcats, whereas Henderson's has more overlap with other people on the roster. I went with the bazz.

Considering that every source I have seen lately is penciling Bazz in as a three I got to go Hendo.

I've grown to like Hendo but I would go with Shabazz if I absolutely had to choose between the two going forward. I think Shabazz could cause mismatch problems for almost any guard that has to defend him in the post and he has a nice little fadeaway/jump hook once he's down there.
