And yeah, that line about "all the libraries on the face of the earth" is priceless.

That would definitely be a new spin on sticky notes.

Started to bike to work from my new location. I average about 17 mph and it's exactly 17 miles away. Using a calculator it's saying I'm burning 2400 calories a day. Even if that isn't that accurate I still must be burning a **** ton. Fitness dudes: any suggestions on shakes or even foods in general to help make up for the calories I'm burning off? I don't want to eat really crappy food for the sake of consuming calories.

Eat nuts imo. Really calorie dense for small portions. I guess almonds and cashews are the go to for fitness people but as long as they're unsalted and not covered in chocolate I think you could get away with other types

Nuts, red meat, fish, milk, avocado's. Really depends on what you're trying to accomplish.

Currently down 70 since Febuary. Sitting at 252. Hope to be down to 230 by the end of August, and 180 by the end of December

A lot of protein bars can be around 350 calories or so, but they're still beneficial if you need something a little more responsible to eat between meals.

To each their own on diets, but I have found one that works well for me,that doctors have said won't work. After doing it for several months now(took a break between April and May to focus on school,I didn't exercise daily, but I stuck to the 1 meal a day routine),I have no more temptations to break off of the strict diet anymore. People on this board told me in January that I was doing myself harm. I Wake Up,drink a bunch of black coffee to get the crap out of my system from the night before. I then run 6-7 miles with 2 fleece shirts and a winter jacket. I hardly drink water, until after my 4th or 5th mile. If I don't work,if I work,I get in a minimum of 4 miles a day. I don't do breakfast or lunch,or any snacks during the day. After doing this for 2 months straight I am pretty much set in my ways now. I eat dinner around 5:30 which is normally a grilled chicken breast with lettuce and nuts.

Are you the guy who doesn't drink water because it makes you fat? You have to be that guy.

I want to make fun of you, but it feels wrong. You are going to die, dude. You need to stop this business of running long distances in heavy clothing and depriving yourself of water. You also should replace electrolytes because I'm sure you're sweating like crazy. I'm not joking with you. One of these days, JT is not going to make it.

Do you eat anything else? It sounds like a version of intermittent fasting, where you don't eat anything all day/evening then get all your calories in in a certain time period before you go to sleep. If the chicken/lettuce/nuts combo is your only caloric intake then I have no idea how you do it psychologically.

I drink no more than 3 bottles a day. I replace the electrolytes by squeezing the juice out of 2-3 lemons a day, which is a very good replacement of water, and will help prevent disease in the future.

Pretty much. Psychologically isn't a big deal to me anymore,as I am always busy, and can ignore everything else.

A bottle isn't really a standard unit of measurement, but that sounds less dire than I imagined at any rate.

Wow. JT man "water weight" is just a term or when the body retains water, this is usually (commonly anyway) due to high amounts of sodium in your body. If you keep your sodium levels down the body will pass the water through easier, at no point though does it turn into actual fat though. You can retain water for a year and still not gain weight from it, it's just water that your body isn't letting go. Even if you don't reduce your sodium levels, drinking more water will actually help the retained water pass through.

I went through all this last year, I was on a strict 1,800 cal meal plan and actually gained weight over 2 weeks according to the scales. Turned out it was because I was using soy sauce every day in stir frys that wasn't salt reduced. As soon as I changed that weight started dropping again, it was just retained water.

Edit: I'm sure someone addressed that at some point in their replies, but just incase.

Don't really have a goal. Biking around 40 miles a day is mostly born out of boredom. I moved to the country and there's **** to do. Races some day would be cool.
