Buss "All In Now" Plan
Buss was a conservative poker player but had a history of making moves when he felt it was time... I do agree that this angle is aggressive but is not completely out of the realm... The BIG assumption is that CP3 wants to wear "purple and gold" and play with Howard... The rest of the assumptions are realistic... That being said, the steps are as follows:
1. Send Pau & his contract to a team under the cap for picks and relief.
2. Amnesty Kobe. Yes I said it.
3. Cut Duhon (pay $1.5 to dump him).
4. Sign D12 for max.
5. Sign CP3 for max.
6. Sign Clark & Blatch at PF.
7. Sign Delfino at SG.
8. Sign Webster & Barnes at SF.
2013/14 Lakers Lineup:
PG: CP3 ($21m) & Nash ($9m).
SG: Meeks ($1.5m) & Delfino ($1.2m) & pick.
SF: Webster ($1.2m) & Barnes ($1.2m).
PF: Blatche ($3m) & Clark ($3m) & LO ($1.2m).
C: Howard ($24m) & Hill ($3m) & Sacre ($1m) or pick.
This would be a very aggressive play but assuming you could find a home for Pau & get CP3 onboard, this could work... This team will have to utilize the MML & Vet Min deals to fill out roster but history has stated that it does work... I would encourage you to digest prior to responding... We almost had this deal last season...

That, and there's zero chance of the Lakers using the amnesty on Kobe.

Re: Buss "All In Now" Plan
You still can't sign all those players or offer CP3 the full max. Dwight + Nash + Hill + Blake + Metta alone takes up $44 mil. CP3 won't take a $6 mil pay cut and also give up that extra year just to play with Dwight.
Somehow Blake & Metta were omitted by the OP.

Cavs just offered #1 & #19 for LMA & got rejected. I have a feeling, we found a taker for Pau.

I thought the same thing, but no way we'd get that offer for Pau.....right?
Also with Metta opting in, that blows up this whole thread (he wasn't even addressed in the OP).

Re: Buss "All In Now" Plan
Likely not nut they are looking for a PF and if its just a salary dump we need, may be we can get the #19 pick off them for Pau.

Re: Buss "All In Now" Plan
Bro, Buss was quoted once as saying Kobe brings in 90 mil in revenue for the Lakers. He's only paid 1/3 of that. (GOOD BUSINESS)
So we amnesty him for a net loss of 90 mil and don't even have a player to put on the floor, while paying him so we have the opportunity to put a bunch of unproven players together?
(BAD BUSINESS)
You know how much of a PR hit the Lakers would take all over their face worldwide if they did that, to the player who for the better part of two decades has made the entire franchise?
(WTF)
