Uhhh why the hell are we not accepting this trade?

because trading down from 2 to 9 in this draft is fairly significant. and it is contingent on oladipo being available

I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

People keep talking about how good Noel s defense is, but ford and Penn mentioned that advanced stats show that Len is a better defender than Noel

Noel gamble a lot on steal and block leading to weaker defense

And len has stronger lower body and more defensive potential

So why would Cle/Orl risk taking Noel over len?

Personally, IF the Bledsoe deal happens (I'm skeptical btw) I would be very open to drafting Noel because I'm a fan of height advantages.

No Noel, draft Oladipo. Just my 2.

I'd be all over this.
w/o Bledsoe, draft McCollum #9.
w/ Bledsoe, draft Zeller or Muhammad.

I dont think CLE would draft Oladipo #1, I cant see it personally. If he's there at #2, I'd see what we could milk from the Timberwolves.

#2 and Davis for Williams, #9, #26, Shved?

Why include Davis? So much hate on our vet on this board

AA, meer and bbd deserve more love and respect from magic fans

I don't have the slightest beef with BBD, just his contract. I think he's a good leader for our young guys, but I think his contract is unfavorable. IF (and I do stress "IF") the LAC trade happens, I have heard great things through the year's about Caron Butler being a good locker room guy. He plays hard on every play and that's got to translate to our young guys. Plus, Butler would be a short term big contract that will most likely be flipped during the TDL (probably BBD also).

I'm not sure you're sending the right message if you take all these good locker room guys and ship them out at the trade deadline, unless the message is "we value you, but not enough to keep you."

Part of a culture includes what you do with your veterans. Trading Jameer (as an example) would almost definitely be a net negative for team culture, dumping a guy that wants to be here and has always been a leader for a little value. This can't help build the locker room environment that JV and Henny seem to want.

To be fair, I never said anything about dumping Jameer. I actually hope he can become our Derek Fisher of sorts. I'm just looking out for the best interest of this team. I want us to play hard and win more than anything. I see what you're saying though and I agree, but I'm very interested in our team's financial flexibility going forward. I think we should spend our money wisely especially after the mess Henny had to clean up that Otis created.

We want quality, not quantity. What we get with the #2 would be easily the best piece in the trade, so its a definite no from me.

I'd prefer having a seperate deal set up for williams...but a PF rotation of Williams/Nicholson/Harris has upside. take KCP or Snell at 9?

whoa. Who has said Noel has "once in a lifetime" defensive skills? I know he can block shots, and has decent skills. Anthony Davis was supposed to be better defensively than Noel and he didnt look like the second coming in the NBA playing PF. 6'10, 220 and he was under 2 blocks a game.

He averaged close to 7 Blocks + Steals per game.....

like I said, i know he can block shots.

Yeah, but more than 2 steals a game is pretty good (unheard of) for a C

I can't see big difference between #2 and #9, so if min is ready to give that much to move up, lets obliged and get the goods

Cj might be there at #9 or even trey, someone is gonna fall

If you cant see the diff between #2 and #9 id encourage you to scout the prospects a bit more. Thats the difference between a Noel and a Zeller, which to me is huge.
