Probably, but it would be a clincher if Ferry really wants to move up to top 5.

Financially, it could reduce the cap by 4 million because you would have to pay the 17th and 18th pick
We have a ton of cap room with no one to spend it on! Why make that deal when both picks or Teague and a pick would accomplish what you want? I personally think if we don't get CP3, we should stick with Teague. He's only going to get better and he's an above average PG as it is now. We just need more talent around him.

even with a "ton" of cap room, if the Hawks don't get Paul and Howard, and go after two free agents like Iggy, Jefferson, or Pek, they would still need the extra cap room to re-sign Korver, and maybe Zaza.

I like Teague, but i think Burke could be better, or a better version of what Mike Conley is now (poor man's Chris Paul), but i could also see Ferry going after Oladipo, because he looks like a Kawhi Leonard clone

it would help in speculating if we know who all the Hawks had in for workouts.. I really like Jamaal Franklin but not as a top five pick. if we are moving into the top 5 Trey Burke would be who I would want then move Jeff Teague for either a Big (Jason Thompson ) or a 1st ( maybe 23rd Pacers) and with that pick get a big Dieng, Gobert, Lucas Noqueira, Withey, or take a flyer on Jamall Franklin if he is still there or Allen Crabbe.

Teague can't be moved with the first round picks, because even though he is a restricted free agent, he is not currently under contract.

Marc Spears of Yahoo passed along a rumor that the Hawks wanted to move up for Shabazz...if so I hope they know something I don't. If the Hawks move into the top 5 I would want Oladipo, Len, or maybe Noel. I wouldn't be upset about Porter, but not that excited either.

Staying where they are at, I like Karasev, but he received a green room invite, so may actually be gone before the Hawks pick. I also like Jamaal Franklin. If one of the centers fall, I'd be interested (particularly Adams or Zeller). As it is, I think the Hawks might be better off getting two wing players, then spending a 1st on a big, if their choices are Plumlee, Dieng, and Withey.

LOL. Is that good or bad?

He did win a Championship in Detroit as a backup big man. Turning his impressive showings into a $50 million contract after that season.

Trey Burke would be nice, or the kid from Indiana. I'm confident that DF, coach Bud and the rest of the front office will make some good decisions tomorrow night.

Won't be able to catch the draft as I'm on vacation, but Ferry has earned my trust. I am willing to believe, even if I don't love the picks at first.

It'll be interesting to see what we're saying after the draft. For example, if Ferry drafts 2 European players, we'll probably have folks saying this is an indication we're signing major FAs and need to stash the picks overseas. Or if we draft a Center, some will say Dwight Howard is out. All the while, it could turn out that Ferry simply drafted the 2 most available players who have a chance to make it in the NBA.

Lotsa grist for the forum mill coming up.

'Depends. How do you see him working with Al Horford

For me it depends on the European players. I really like Karasev, and would be on board with taking him. He's young, but has already performed at a high level in Russia. The rest of the international players scare me to some extent.

I wish Schroeder would fall to us... But I don't think he gets past the Celtics... All this talk of Giannis not wanting to be stashed scares me... I had originally wanted him the most, but now I think I'd like us to go with Karasev or Schroeder and Dieng.

Dieng is really starting to warm up to me. He sounds like he has a good head on his shoulder and would be easy to buy into a system.

Olynyk and Horford would be fantastic together on offense. Kelly's post game and passing with AL's jump shooting and athleticism...marvelous to behold.

But they'd be a disaster on defense. AL is not a shot blocker by any means, Kelly is too slow to stop the pick and roll and would get eaten alive by athletic bigs like Bosh, D12, etc.

Indeed, hopefully it kicks up the activity around here. I often feel like I'm talking to myself in this place.

Agreed. And Horford just stated Dieng is his personal top choice in the ESPN Players Draft where he represented the Hawks. Noticeably, he advocated drafting Steven Adams with the following pick. AL wants a big frontline and I can't blame him.

Horford with a message, "PLEASE move me to PF!!" ?

Yeppers. Sounds like he doesn't expect (want?) Josh Smith back either...He has us drafting Smoove's replacement and a backup big.
