Thomas is a pretty good player although I think he's overrated by Sacramento fans (as is often the case). That said, there is no way that I would think the Cavs would want him for a first. He is what he is which is a undersized point guard who isn't particularly exceptional. Too many of those out there to be giving up an asset for.

Plus, he's only cheap for one more year before he'll be vastly overpaid. 19 is too much for him. 33 is probably the Cavs pick for him.

The Cavs are already undersized at most positions, can't imagine them bringing in an even more undersized PG.

I consider Luol deng another good option at SF, but his injuries are concerning. He's better fit that Marion.

Bulls fan here. You'd rather Deng to Pierce or Marion... his injuries aren't to be too concerned about, they are a result of Thibs maniac minutes.

Also, you guys have the money to keep him (should you want to) and he's a loyal guy. On top of that, he could see that Cavs future is looking bright and want to stay. He is a absolute professional and will provide great leadership to your young team and you'd be in the playoffs next year if you got him.

I think Deng would be perfect for Cavs and it will hurt me to see him go if he did, but I think with Butler's emergence we could really use Oladipo at the 2.

I think Deng is a perfect fit for the Cavs and much better for them than Pierce or Marion. Cavs won't give up number one pick for him, and doubt Bulls trade him for 19+....if a deal will be made, will probably be Deng and 20 +??? for 1 + ???. As a Cavs fan I would want Deng, 20, and Charlotte future # 1 for 1 and either two # 2s this year or one this year and one next year. Again, Cavs could probably also throw in a player like Gee. Its interesting to read Bulls are talking extension with Deng.

Cavs won't give up #1 for any of these three. The main reason that Pierce and Marion make sense is because they are place holders that'd keep the Cavs cap space. While Deng could be as well, if they are asking for even 19 that's too much to rent a player if you are talking #1 you are crazy.

What is this that Cleveland is working on something big?
Being a Bucks fan,it seems like Ersan would be a great fit for the Cavs,but teams try to avoid trading in-division unless its 1 year contracts being swapped. Also saw on HW that the Cavs have explored trading the 1 pick with 1 team in particular,anyone have any ideas?

Why are we trying to trade our picks for 28 year old aldridge. he will be 30-32 by the time the cavs are making deep playoff runs.

Check this out:

Sixers trade Evan Turner, and #11 pick

Cavs trade Dion Waiters, and #19 pick

Sixers get Dion Waiters, and #19 pick

Cavs get Evan Turner, and #11 pick

For the Cavs this gives them flexibility with their team and this draft. It will allow them to take Ben McLemore with the first pick and I think he's the better fit next to Irving than Waiters. Evan Turner can play the small forward position and he'll have a year to earn a long term contract from you guys. He hasn't been great in Philly but he hasn't been horrible either. He could use a change. You can then use the #11 pick on a big...Zeller, Gobert, Dieng, Adams, Olynyk..There will be a bunch available, and it is possible that one of the bigger names like Muhammed are there as well.

For the Sixers we get the scoring guard that we need to compliment Jrue Holiday. We desperately need someone who can score the basketball. We kinda liked Waiters last year anyway going into the 2012 draft so it would be nice to get him in Philly. Since we are in a rebuilding mode right now the #19 selection can be used on a project player for us, or possibly the best big available in that area.

In a way we both are helping eachother out. Cavs get a small forward who is just three years removed from being the #2 pick in the draft and they also get the #11 selection. Turner is also in a contract year so he comes off the books if you desire him to do so after 2014. This also allows you guys to take Ben Mclemore with a clear conscience. Thoughts?

Seems odd that we'd be offering players rather than future 1sts in that deal. The whole thing smells fishy to me. I don't think there is any doubt we've pursued him though.

If true, the trade would leave us pretty thin. We could still make the Marion trade and have two picks in the teens to help fill out the roster:

Irving/FA
Ellington/Miles
Marion/Gee/Karasev
Love/Steven Adams
Varejao/Zeller

With room to offer a max FA contract next offseason and a ton of picks at our disposal.

I guess I see the strategy, but I sure would love to keep Waiters on board instead.

No way does Cleveland swap Waiters for Turner to move up eight spots in the draft.
