If thats true than I hope we dont make this deal, the clippers have no levrage here, if they dont trade him now than his value will just go lower and lower until he is a free agent and he goes to another team for nothing.

As for Afflalo, Im sure planty of teams would be willing to trade something of value for him anytime in the next two years, so if its not Bledsoe we cant try and get a first round pick in this draft or another prospect Hennigan likes, like in the JJ deal.

Either way, I really think Nicholson can be a perfect guy off the bench and I would hate to give up on him after one year.

Of course Clippers would want and push for Nicholson but I don't believe that Rob would allow that.

If we're willing to throw in Nicholson, makes me believe Noel will be our pick on thursday.

Whats the point of holding on to Nicholson if we can get Noel. Hence why i think the trade isnt all that bad. you make the trade once Noel is passed. plus the 2015 pick will be protected which is good. Also you can flip Butler on draft night or by deadline. This deal is not that bad. id still want the Clips first round pick though.

How about this
Trade baby and professor to Raps for. Ross and Amir
Trade Aaron for bled and butler
Draft Noel or trade back

Nelson - Bledsoe
Ross - lamb
Hark - butler
Tobs - Noel
Vuc - Kyle

What you think

I gave it a shot in the early 2000's, but I just couldn't get into it.

Selling your self short bud.....Honestly what was your favorite team then?

Hockey is an AMAZING sport man. You just have to stick your team & get very very interested. I PROMISE you they get to the Playoffs it is a TONNNNNN of FUN.

It was the Dallas Stars. Time is an issue too. I barely have time to watch my Yanks play on a regular basis.

I don't like including Nicholson for Bledsoe because the Magic only get one season to evaluate Bledsoe's ability to run the point and that season will be one with a bunch of youth so its not exactly a great measure. However, I'm also pretty risk averse and wouldn't make a very good GM (for example, I probably wouldn't have traded JJ for Harris.)

Worst case scenario, Nicholson can provide instant offense off the bench which would be very valuable in the future.

Best case scenario, Nicholson add some weight, works on his defense and rebounding and can be a david west type of player.

Bledsoe is a nice asset but I dont ever see him becoming a top PG in this league, hes too small, not a good enough shooter and playmaker to ever get to that level.
He is more of a combo guy off the bench that can do a little bit of everything, I dont see how that gets you a starter and a potential sixth man.

the Raptors LOVE Ross and Amir, they don't get anywhere near better with this trade, and take on more $$.

What are the details on Bledsoe's contract?

Hoopshype says Bledsoe is set to make $2,626,473 next season, and has a qualifying offer of $3,726,965 for 2014-15. Does that mean if we pick up his option, he be paid $3.7 for that final season and will be a restricted free agent in the summer of 2015?

Yep. Bledsoe only averaged one 3-point attempt per game.

I'm not sure if that means he's not confident in the shot or not a chucker. I mean, based on our past history, is it really bad that he's only taking one three pointer per game?

All we had before were three point shooters around Dwight, and we lived and died by the three. I'd be fine with a guy that can sink ne on occasion but doesn't fall in love with the three point line exclusively.

There's a reason guards go under the screen with Bledsoe. You can see it in the games that Bledsoe would rather not take the 3. It's awesome that he'd rather not chuck, but I'd prefer my point guard have confidence in that shot. And as inefficient as the shot is, he's not a very good mid-range (10 ft-16ft. and 16 ft.-3 point) shooter either.

The means the Magic have to offer him that qualifying offer for him to be a restricted free agent. If he accepts the offer, he will play 1 year for that $3.7M salary, then be an unrestricted FA. If he declines the offer, Magic will have the right to match any offer he signs. That QO you see listed is just a place holder until action takes place next summer.

Hope that made sense.

It won't matter if the Magic draft Noel, he will be a 15-20mpg role player off the bench at best in this league. Just used for defense in certain situations because he won't be able to maintaint the post with his frame and/or will always be injured.

So, basically the Magic are trading Nicholson for Noel for that backup PF role to BBD. Perfect.

I will now take bets that Noel will never be better than BBD in the NBA. Any Takers?!?!?! 8-)

Afflalo/2015 1st pick/Nicholson for Bledsoe/Butler. That's a **** deal for us.

Except this is coming from the Clippers side so its most likely what they would want, ideally. Doesn't mean thats what they will get. Even the sources say its far from done. Plus, Rob is about maximizing assets not give them away like Otis.

There's no way we're giving up a pick and Nicholson for Bledsoe.

Butler may be part of the deal, but he's not really "part of the deal."
