Yeah. I'm a Knicks fan and I love this time of year with the draft and trade rumors. So I just go from board to board to read but rarely ever post on other team's boards.

I was just surprised by BearJew's comment/pot shot over mere trade rumors.

You're certainly welcome here, and I don't say that about most Knicks fans.

Put me down as being lukewarm on Okafor for Deng WITHOUT the 3rd pick included.

Absolutely ZERO chance the Bulls trade Deng for Okafor alone. That would be a horrible trade.

However, if the Bulls want to pursue the original trade I could see something like:

Bulls get: #3 pick, Okafor
Wizards get: Deng, Bobcats pick, #20 pick

Absolutely ZERO chance the Bulls trade Deng for Okafor alone. That would be a horrible trade.

Nobody here is even remotely interested in getting Deng.

He's a uniquely awful fit with Wall coming in as a $14 million expiring to what was our deepest position last year. Deng just does nothing for us; we have lots of holes, but Deng fills none of them.

He's maybe the fifth or sixth most desirable guy from the 2013 Bulls for us to acquire.

That said, I think an extended Deng might work (in the theoretical), if other moves are made. Say we have cousins wanting to come here (and the capspace for him) and we get picks out of the deal with Chicago. Much easier said than done. But, my point is if this ever did go down (unlikely) it could be one of a few moves. Again, unlikely, but say we ended up as:

Wall
Beal
Deng
Cousins
Okafor
Plus picks...

Trust me. I get how pipe dreamy the above is. Just saying there are moves that COULD make a Deng trade palatable.

Nope. Still not palatable. If we're paying Wall and Cousins max contracts, we can't afford to pay $14M-a-year contracts to mediocre vets like Okafor and Deng.

Another bulls fan here... The only way I see this as plausible is if the bulls are throwing in their Charlotte pick, which becomes less and less protected until 3 years from now when it's completely unprotected. But from the looks of it, the whole thing is bs anyway.

Plus Deng is in a gradual decline... sorta like Hinrich was a few years back and Deng is an upcoming free agent. The smart move is cashing in now for a longer term asset. The Bulls are shooting too high if they're trying to get the 3rd. Maybe they get a late lottery pick at best, more likely a mid 1st rounder for Deng at this stage.

Yeah, that's what smart successful organizations do - trade veterans maybe a year before it's obvious they're in decline. Heck, he even made the All-Star team. Now, whether or not they'll find a taker - I don't know - but it's the right strategy.

It's cool you just have to see things from Wizards fans perspective. This trade is a nightmare for our fan base, then you come on the board trolling happy for the trade to happen even when it's been confirmed by multiple reliable sources as a no go. As Wizards fans we have been through enough pain and trade rumors like this isn't amusing for us.

You're ignoring the fact that most of the rumors are false to begin with.

It was really hard to see why EG would trade Okafor after one year when he actually
did reasonably well.

Not any rumor is to be automatically believed just because of EG.

It was less directed at that quote more than the people on your board dissing Derrick Rose and the Bulls in general, I didn't mean to target him specifically. Regardless though, in all honestly I think you guys have a good young backcourt and you are one YEAR OF REASONABLE HEALTH away from the playoffs, I was just trying to mess with you really.

with the caveat being, if the price is high enough.

I get that most here don't trust EG. He's made some horrible trades. And drafts.
That said, not every rumor is well founded and there needs to be some
limit to the general notion held here that the worse the rumored deal,
the more likely it is to be true.
