So, basically the Magic are trading Nicholson for Noel for that backup PF role to BBD. Perfect.

I will now take bets that Noel will never be better than BBD in the NBA. Any Takers?!?!?! 8-)

I'll take the bet.

Let's make it a true daily double

I want in on this.

What are we betting? How do we determine who is "better"?

Hoopshype says Bledsoe is set to make $2,626,473 next season, and has a qualifying offer of $3,726,965 for 2014-15. Does that mean if we pick up his option, he be paid $3.7 for that final season and will be a restricted free agent in the summer of 2015?

http://hoopshype.com/salaries/la_clippers.htm

The means the Magic have to offer him that qualifying offer for him to be a restricted free agent. If he accepts the offer, he will play 1 year for that $3.7M salary, then be an unrestricted FA. If he declines the offer, Magic will have the right to match any offer he signs. That QO you see listed is just a place holder until action takes place next summer.

Hope that made sense.

Thanks, Nyce. So basically, unless Bledsoe has an freak injury, he will most likely decline his qualifying offer and become a restricted FA next offseason.

So if we deal for Bledsoe, he is basically on a one-year "prove it" kind of deal. If we were to retain him next offseason, we would have to match whatever contract some other team may offer him.

Hmm, I'm starting to warm up to the idea of having Afflalo locked in at $7.5M for the next two seasons instead of most likely having to overpay Bledsoe to keep him. I'm not 100% sure if Bledsoe will be worth the $8-10 million per season he may get offered next summer...

If noel is a guy who could learn to consistently hit a 15 foot jumper at least he could be helpful on offense without the need to post up. If he's playing with Vuc. there wont be many rebounds to get so that wont be a problem. I think that could be an interesting combo. Obviously on paper it's a pretty perfect tandem.

In a weak draft he has too much potential to pass on. Even if it's just as an asset.

I hate the idea of Drew being in that Bledsoe trade but I can see where his minutes would start to go away if we drafted Noel.

Pimp, count me in. I like Baby and he may prove me wrong but I don't think he has the head to harness that heart for good. I'm thinking more Venus less Serena.

It concerns me as well that we will have to shell out a lot of money for Bledsoe after next season

So we give up the best player in the deal already and on top of that we add Nicholson and a pick?! LOL

If Henny pulls the trigger on that Bledsoe deal I might have to pull a trigger of my own.

The Magic don't have to shell out a lot of money for Bledsoe. That's why I think the Afflalo for Bledsoe/Butler trade is so good - even if Bledsoe demands more than he's worth (or more than the Magic are willing to pay him) they can let him walk but the Magic have still gotten out of Aflallo's contract early.

Of course, I don't rate Afflalo very much, so some might think the trade a failure if Orlando trades Aflallo for an expiring, but I wouldn't.

The Rockets are in advanced talks on a cap-clearing trade of forward Thomas Robinson, with a deal potentially “imminent,” a person with knowledge of their plans said on Tuesday.

OT: But, I was a huge hockey fan a couple of years ago, I became less interested as I started watching basketball more and more. I had two teams (In every sport but basketball, I usually like two teams). I liked the Anaheim Ducks (They will forever be the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim to me lol) for the western conference and the Tampa Bay Lightning (I had to go for the hometown team) for the eastern conference. I'm thinking about doing that for basketball. Having a western conference team and an eastern conference team (Obviously it would be Orlando).
Not changing this Sig until the Orlando Magic win a championship (Technically Started 1-30-08)

the thing is bmp, Davis is a God to you lol...How can any player be better than your God haha

i would take this bet if you reworked a little... all year you have said noel will be nothing in the nba. absolutely nothing. not even a role player. stand by your word and change the bet that he will be the next greg oden and ill take that bet haha. Your move sir XD

its better to get something than nothing is it not? hell we could acquire another TPE and use it to go acquire a 1st round pick to help another team out in the cap Department

To those questioning Kyler's sources, he was once a pretty unconnected guy, but now that he's sort of working for USA Today, he's got a lot more connections and gets a lot of legit information.

I don't like giving up a 2015 pick or Nicholson, although I've heard some are concerned that his gait is going to be an issue in his development, as is his age.

Im only down with trading for Bledsoe if Noel is taken #1. I figure if we trade for him then we will probably target a shooting guard in the first round and i am not really sold on McLemore or Oladipo

if we are giving up Nicholson, maybe we take part in a deal for T-Rob, and still use a pick on a PG/SG
