CJ McCollum very impressive. Told one of the three teams outside the top 10 trying to trade up for him (Utah, Phily, Port).

Portland is in the Top 10 though.....

That said, I'm not the least bit surprised Utah wants him. The Jazz have stopped just short of publicly saying, "We're definitely picking a PG". Their GM gave an interview about a week ago where he just telegraphed exactly what they're targeting.

"IF" he is there at 10 would we take 14 and 21 for the 10?

I would. I think the pick at 21 will have very good value. I would want to ensure we still get Adam's at 14 though, which might be difficult with Philly and OKC looking for that type of player. Missing out on Adam's might not be worth the drop.

You mean David Kahn is obsessed with the Blazers and he no longer runs the show.

Lol you are right.

Still, McCollum makes a lot of on-court sense for them.

Thomas Robinson who was the 5th pick of the draft last year is now worth a 19th or a 20th? Sacramento really would like a do over, wouldn't they?

I saw a thread on this on the draft board...

What do people think of Cleveland taking Zeller #1? Does that not seem like a typical Cleveland move to anyone else?

Zeller was insanely productive in college, I am sure his advanced metrics are off the charts. He drew so many foul shots, and generally shot it very efficiently. The Cav's have been looking for an offensive big man through trade. His character is great. His athleticism is great. He could play small-ball next to Thompson, he could play next to Varejao and he could even play next to his more prototypical center of a brother. A fan analysis (based on comparisons) on Blazersedge claimed he was one of the most likely big men to make an All-Star game and one of the least likely to completely bust.

I have become convinced this is a real possibility.

I'm not trying to convince you McCollum is much of a PG, I'm just saying I believe Utah is and they're the ones who want to recreate a Lillard situation. I've long said I think McCollum is going to be just as much a PG as Jarrett Jack, Randy Foye and Jerryd Bayless were, which is meant to mean, much more of a SG than PG. However, because of Lillard's success, I think he's going to get a bump in his stock and I think Utah loves him from what I've read.

Cleveland isn't afraid to go against the grain in the draft, they've done so two years in a row, so I won't put anything past them. They already have his brother, maybe they want to pair them up together?

Eric Gordon 'Very Available' In Trade Talks (source tells RealGM's @Andrew_Perna) -- http://bit.ly/17CAaZs

Who's going to take on that contract with his knees as shot as they are?

If the 6th pick is included I could see it. I would be willing to do Freeland, our 3 seconds, cash and the draft rights to Kostas Papanikolaou. Turn Gordon into a scorer off the bench and hope Len is still available at 6. If Len isn't available we can draft bpa and take Adams,Gobert or Zeller at 10

Trade would have to be completed after July1

I don't think the Pelicans are THAT desperate to dump him.

Yeah if a team drafts him to be there pg, boy... He isn't Lillard though cause Lillard has proven he is a PG but I get where your going with it.

I think he could go to PHX at 5 if they whiff on Dipo and Mclemore an porter. Also Det and Sac.

I'm not that desperate to give up our capspace :D . For me to take on Gordon's contract will require substantial compensation

Orlando has been doing a great deal of work on players in late lottery-mid 1st round range, weighing possible deals out of No. 2 spot.

A draft expert/insider for CBS is on the Jim Rome Show right now (guest host Grant Naper). He said he's heard it from a good source that CJ McCollum won't drop past Portland at #10. If he's there, he is going to be the Blazers pick, at 10. He also said that the Blazers will NOT pick Shabazz if he's there at #10.

Take this for what it is.
