Why would you want a top 5 pick?

Scola and a trade exception for Biedrins and his final year.

Phoenix has both Morris twins Gortat and Channing coming back so Scola is kind of odd man out...I read that they want to go younger. They need to tank this year to position for next years draft.

Biedrins expires next year while Scola has another year after next at 4.5 mil each....Biedrins also gives them a seven footer behind Gortat.

Phoenix is definitely angling for the future and I think this coming season is all about getting their youth experience. If somehow this move were made Scola fits our roster perfectly and would erase the need for Landry.

I'd trade Lee for a 2nd round pick and I'm not even joking.

GSW trades Lee/Rush/future 2nd (and maybe cash) for Kirilenko/Udoh
Cleveland trades #19 + cap space for Lee
Minny trades Kirilenko for #19 -> make room for Williams, save room against the tax for Pek + SG help
Mil trades Udoh for Rush + future 2nds -> get a wing who can make 3's and play defense, Udoh 4th big anyway.

GS swapps Lee/Landry for AK/Udoh, getting better on D, saving luxury tax $$ this year and getting major cap space in 2014.

Could be done in one deal or separately as long as the Lee to Cleveland part happened 1st.

I think the criteria should be if you lead the league in double doubles, make the all star team, make all-nba 3rd team, good leader, offer multiple skills like post scoring, rebounding, and passing, in your prime while leading your team to the 6th seed -- ship that person off as quickly as possible. That should be the criteria. Make the all star team = trade you. Brilliant and totally not something the previous FO would do.

I really wish we still had our pick this year so we could make a run at Gorgui.

Why is every single post you make the exact same thing. No thinking person gives a sh*t about All-Star games. Antawn Jamison has more all-star appearances than Paul George, Stephen Curry and Josh Smith combined.

Out of pure curiosity, how much better is Kevin Love over David Lee? It's being reported that the Cavs offered their #1, Tristan Thompson, and Waiters for KLove, but were turned down by the Wolves. If that's the case, what do you suppose is the main factor between Lee and Love (outside of potential 3pt shooting)? Both struggle defensively, both rebound well, both can efficiently put points on the board, both can pass exceptionally well for their position, and both seem to be locker room leaders. Love costs more and is the overall better player, but how much better is he over Lee? Stat heads? Personal opinions? All are welcome.

With that said, would it be a stretch to offer the same deal to the Cavs considering the Wolves just turned them down? Do you think the Warriors FO would be speaking from a position of strength because of Lee being the best player in the deal, albeit with the largest contract? Thompson will be a serviceable young defensive PF, Waiters is a spark plug off the bench to fill Jack's role, and the #1 pick in a very weak draft (Noel or ???) and all are on rookie deals. Outside of a "No" answer from the Cavs FO, it would at least be a starting point. If they bite, maybe we could flip the #1 pick and move back to acquire a suitable PG replacement for Jack and acquire future picks? If they counter and just offer the #1 and Waiter/ or Thompson, the salary savings would be substantial. Thoughts?
I'm still trying to wipe the Chris Cohen stink off of me. Banging dirty pirate hookers barely masked the smell. Playoffs you say? It's a start...

The rumors are that they went to Portland for Aldrige, turned down. Went to Wolves for Love..turned down.

So it's likely that the next stop is Lee. I'm thinking that Lee's value might be slightly less with the surgury.

From a Cap room consideration...if the Warriors were trying to move salary in order to sign Dwight Howard, for example, then you would make that kind of move. Or maybe you clear salary to re-sign Landry and Jack so it makes sense.....

This all could get interesting....

My opinion is that Love is only marginally better than Lee for the Warriors. I definitely think that the Cavs deal was fair value for Love.

I would trade Lee and Barnes for MKG and the #4 pick.

I'd consider Lee for #1. I'm not sure how Cleveland sells that to their fans though. I would even do Thompson + #19 for Lee. I'd take on Waiters as well, but I doubt Cleveland would be willing to part with him as well.

I could see Cavs doing something, as I think the #1 pick could be a trap this year. Like it has been in several years...

I'd give Lee for practically anything the Cavs have.

Yes. Thompson + #19 is along the lines of what I was thinking. I'd take that and run. Anything more I could get out of them, I'd take.

Thompson is making almost $10M less this year than Lee - so I have no problem at that point offering Jack something around 3 years @ $6M/year to keep him without coming close to the tax. With the #19, I'd take the best player available, irrespective of position (hope somebody decent drops), and I'd go after Brandan Wright with part of the MLE (offer somewhere around 3 years @ $3M/year).

We stay out of the tax line, field a good young team, keep all of our current 2014 salary flexibility...... it's about the best we can hope for.

Note: I'm not sold that, given the tax implications, we' would make an offer like this to Jack, or anybody of comparable skills. (And I don't see either Bazemore or Machado coming close to filling Jack's shoes.) With Landry opting out, I think he's probably gone, but if he is willing to come back for what we can offer him ($4.8M/year), he still works in this scenario. So to me this trade really becomes Lee for Thompson + Jack + #19 pick, both sides of which make about the same money. I'll take the right side of that equation.
If I don't have anything funny to say, can I still have a signature?
