I'd love that. I hear Dieng has been red-flagged, so yeah, my interest in him is pretty low right now. Getting Gobert at 21 would be a great get though. Not sure who Portland would target at 14.

Duster, what's the deal on Dieng's red-flag? I haven't seen anything, thanks in advance

May be serious, may not be, but considering he's already an older rookie, I'd rather take a chance on a young guy with no injury risks. Call me gun-shy on guys who get red-flagged.

Here's a little more - maybe like Batum?

"Article from Hoops World
Former Louisville big man Gorgui Dieng may be in for a long night on Thursday. Word is that several teams have flagged his knees as a problem.

"Dieng was not red flagged at the NBA draft combine in Chicago so this may very well be a small handful of teams looking for a reason to pass on a legit NBA-caliber big man. Perry Jones III was flagged similarly last year and took a massive draft day tumble, going from a top-10 prospect all the way to 28 to the Oklahoma City Thunder. It’s unlikely Dieng falls into the second round, but if he does it is because teams were scared off by his knees. McCollum was very impressive in the interview I saw. Intelligent, humble and a great attitude. He offers the added bonus of being a backup PG and allowing the Blazers to free up cap by not re-signing Maynor. But I really hope he gets picked before #10. Small school, senior and undersized SG are 3 major bust factors. Lillard was a great pick and he overcame the small school senior risks, but to double down and roll those dice again is just asking for a disaster.

I hate Dieng at #10, but in the late first or 2nd and I think it would be a fantastic pick.

Not that this really matters, but it's interesting to see that the presumptive #1 overall pick in this draft, Alex Len, is only ranked #8 by ESPN.

Here is my take of the possibility of C.J. McCollum and how he compares to Damian Lillard:

Who's the better play maker/passer?
-Lillard

Who's the better shooter?
-McCollum

Lillard had some much put on him his rookie year that getting Eric Maynor made a big difference in his game. Plus, Stotts practically ran Lillard to the ground as he led the NBA in total minutes played. Getting McCollum would mean Stotts could reduce Lillard down to 35-36 minutes-a-game.

And having those two out there at the same time would be a benefit at times like it was with Lillard and Maynor. On nights Lillard's shot isn't there and there will be nights like that next season like last year, maybe McCollum's will be on and the Blazers could ride on it that particular game.

Plus it doesn't hurt to get a guy who shot 51.6% from 3-point range last year.

He missed 2/3 of the season with a broken foot, that's why his % is inflated. Having them out there at the same time would detrimental. Both of them would get abused on defense.

No lineup in the NBA is perfect. But playing two point guards at the same time is a trend that a lot of teams are doing these days and it would be a good thing to have a duo that could match up well those situations.

Zeller being mentioned as going as high as #4.

I was hoping he would be the great value that fell to #10, but that is looking a lot less likely. Maybe Minnesota can work a trade to move up for Oladipo so KCP falls. I am not a fan of McCollum, but would certainly prefer him to Burke. And Burke seems most likely to fall to #10 if Zeller gets picked higher.
