Can something like 20+Taj+TPE+Mirotic be done?

Lets sign Viktor K and package him with the Bobcats pick and right the wrong* that was the 2006 draft

*wrong in that we ended up with the wrong guy, but technically it was the right move as it indirectly led us to Rose.

No. Can't combine a TPE. Must be used to absorb player(s) for 5 million bucks or less.

I think Chicago has a shot at getting him, but not until summer 2014. Aldridge will only have one year left on his deal and will have leverage. Even then I'm not sure what Chicago could offer Portland that would entice them.

LMA gonna force his ways to chicago. And block any extensions elsewhere just like all these other superstars in the nba. Sounds NICE!!

Just like Kobe did! Hopefully we aren't being used for leverage again. I hope it happens. Jo, LMA, Rose & Buckets would be excellent. LMA would tear Miami up in the post.

So you guys will have to figure out how to get LMA here, but if we do I'm absolutely seeing if Charlotte still wants to do BG7 for Boozer if I'm GarPax.

we'd have to amnesty boozer, coupled with Deng's contract gone off the books.

I once proposed that and was screamed at, loudly.

Honestly, I'd ship Joakim for Aldridge in a heartbeat. Aldridge/Taj is a great frontcourt, and all our wing players are excellent rebounders. We then would actually have two bigs who could space the floor, what a thought!

For all the work Bulls fans do to say "we need to move Deng so we can be more efficient on offense"......

..........It'd be the BLAZERS that would have the new-NBA offense after a deal. Lillard, Matthews, Batum, Deng...three point threats at four positions.

Just to clarify, the rule isn't that you can't combine a player with a TPE, it's that you can't combine the salary of a player with a TPE to take back a player who makes more than the TPE is worth. So you couldn't trade TPE+Taj for someone who makes 12M. You could, however, I think, do TPE+20+Mirotic for someone who makes 5M, because neither 20 nor Mirotic have a cap number for trade purposes, so the other team doesn't have to send out any other salary, and you're not aggregating any salary because you're still only taking back the 5M that the TPE can absorb. If the other team had cap room to absorb contracts, then you could also send them anything they could absorb. You just can't combine the TPE with player salaries to take back a player who makes more than the TPE is worth.

This is my understanding from reading cbafaq.com.

There is no way the Blazers are going to take Deng. In no reality is that going to occur.

I'm a big fan of LMA and think he'd complement Rose just lovely. No way I'm giving Noah up though. He's the heart and soul of the Bulls.

That's what I meant. Can't add a TPE as one would a salaried player in a trade.

LMA has not ever played with a team as good as this Bulls one, a coach as good as Thibs, or a player that demanded as much attention as Rose.

If we f**** signed Asik like I wanted, we could have an Asik/Aldridge/Gibson/Humphries front line with Mirotic waiting in the wings.

If he really wants out I'm surprised they didn't take the Cavs deal, the longer they wait the less teams will be willing to deal for him without promising an extension

If the Bulls stand pat and Rose is a reasonable version of his former self (and if he's not all this talk about building a contender any time soon is moot), they are going to be a high seed in the East trying to take down a team that would be gunning for its 4th consecutive Finals appearance that was just pushed to the absolute limit in the playoffs and no other obvious world beaters in its conference.

There's no way a straight Aldridge for Noah swap is worth that risk.

He's also constantly injured and one-dimensional. I love Joakim, but if you can swap him for a 20/9 big man who can play solid D and is still young, you do it. LMA is an all-star level talent, he's just suffered from being on bad teams.
