I don't think Burke is all that slow myself. I think he's very good at manipulating his speed and not moving 100% fast all of the time because frankly he doesn't need to. Change of speed is far more important in the NBA (Halfcourt) than top speed.

Deleted my post somehow. Basically said that it sucks that KCP was never brought in for a workout and I cannot fathom why Dumars didn't even entertain the thought of him. Horrible.

Sorry, but I believe a lot of us "Homers" want Burk. Yes, he had a great showing in the tournament. But Zeller been ranked in the top three all year until the tournament. You always pick a skilled big man over a small guard. Another reason I prefer Zeller is that Monroe might leave when he becomes a free agent

Yeah, that dog won't hunt. It would be an incredible long shot at this point. There's a better chance of Porter or McLemore landing in Detroit than Muhammad by all reports.

That is bizarre. Especially as they had so many guys who were projected as a mid-first round pick in there, like Kelly Olynyk. Unless....it's a smoke screen!

 The smokescreen comment with that GIF was hilarious. I also would like KCP out of that group of guys and it's def not cool that he was never worked out.

Someone in here earlier today said KCP came in this past Monday for a workout.

"need4detroit" maybe -- sorry if I am mistaken.

I fully understand people's reservations about Burke. At the same time these points need correction. 1) Burke wasn't better in the tournament than in the regular season, his numbers were actually sizeably worse. 2) Zeller started off the season top 3 and started falling quickly, he was out of the top three by December as I remember. The bigger point is that you shouldn't look at how long a guy was on someone else's big board-- a team should look at him independently with your own eyes, set aside hype etc, and build your own rankings. 3) You don't always take 'skilled big men' over 'small guards.' That's more of a maxim--all other things being equal, size is rarer and should be more valuable. But you draft on talent, upside, and past resume, and you try to choose the best player available. If a smallguy is a 9 on your draft board you don't take a big guy who's a 7 just because he's big.

You certainly shouldn't draft based on size. Kyrie Irving was an all-star last season, what's Derrick Williams done?

If he didn't.....that would be dumb.

It eerily reminds me of 10 years ago when we decided not to work out Carmelo.

Think Shabbazz will fall into the "people who should've gone higher but fall on draft night" like Monroe & Drummond.

I think MCW is a great fit for you guys, if he bulks up. Can guard the 2's while Knight guards the 1's. Styles compliment each other nicely. But he can't shoot at all lol. Muhammed will definitely stretch the floor for your bigs.

a Muhammed-Monroe-Drummond front court hassss to be one of the most intriguing front courts in the league.

I have no apprehensions about drafting Burke if he's there.

Of course, I'm really not invested in Knight as a starting guard for this team, so fit with him really isn't something that enters into it for me. To me, Knight's future is either as our 6th man or on another team.

1. McCollum
2. Burke
3. Caldwell-Pope

To be honest, I don't have high hopes for any particular player that will be available to us, but those are the three I think are most likely to give some contribution.
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

I need time to fast forward to the draft. This waiting is killing me. Other than Oladipo I'm really not solid on who I want us to get.

I wasn't high on Trey Burke but after hearing his polish in interviews and his highlights I'm starting to like the guy a lot. Burke doesn't use blinding speed yet he still gets by his man with strength and craftiness. He now reminds me more of Jameer Nelson than DJ Augustine. His ceiling is probably higher than both of those guys.

CJ McCullom is going to be a gem. I'm almost afraid not to get him. He is not only a deadly shooter, he is a scorer. In that sense he reminds me of Steph Curry.

Anthony Bennett intrigues me as a possible selection as well. He has power down low. He runs the break well. He has deep range. The question will be if he can guard opposing threes in the league.

^CJM shot 51% from the 3 with volume. That kid is obviously the best scorer on the draft. Its almost like a Lillard and Curry hybrid but unproven yet. I'm excited for that kid.

Agreed plus hes a much better iso scorer than Curry or Lillard.

McCollum has star potential.
