Solid team. A little weak at small forward. I can't see De Ciman or McIntosh getting that many minutes. I think its more likely they go small and have Notice and XRM in at the same time (with Ennis) for a lot of minutes.

Anyone know if Dyshawn Pierre is too old or he just wasn't interested? Would have been nice to have him available at wing.

I was somewhat surprised that Atewe didn't make it up front.
As others have mentioned, Lyles will be key.

Not to rub it in... but as a lifelong Jayhawk fan, this photo is a thing of beauty!

Because there's no Kansas Jayhawk thread... ;)

And because the kid's development remains vital to Canada Basketball wherever it happens. Cool?

I was born and raised in Toronto, never been to India even though i am 30 years old now, but both of my parents come from the State of Punjab before they arrived in Canada in 1979. I always wish the best for South Asian players as well, but regardless of background, i wish every Canadian Ball Player much love and success.

Whoosh

Awesome to see some ethnic flavour on the team. Steve Nash was probably the single biggest driver behind our sudden influx of young talent.

I'd argue that Vince Carter was the cause for the spike in the talent level of Canadian basketball.

Hassassin wrote:This is Trey Lyle's team. The US team is strong and so is the Spanish team, which apparently has 5 guys playing in the pros.

PLaying with the pros but in lower divisions, none of them has seen siginificant playing time in the ACB yet.
This is arguably the best spanish junior team since the golden generation of Gasol, Navarro, Lopez, Reyes and co, although not having Ily Diop, who will only play in the u18 eurochamp, hurt the big man depth which was the biggest strenghth of the team
Hernangomez - Saiz (Ole Miss recruit) is still a terrific starting duo and Nogues has improved significantly during this season.

BTW Hezonja will probably miss the tournament.
If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.

Tomorrow starts with a big game between Spain and Canada at 13:15 CET - 7:15 am over there.
In principle all games will be available live and on demand here http://basketbal.tvcom.cz/

Anyone know what final roster ended up being?

I heard the game is going to be on TheScore tomorrow. I think they are replaying it in the evening though, not sure if it will be live.
