don't want him. Lazy...Lazy on D...injury prone, gonna be over weight.

C.J. at 8 for me. That's who I want.

I could accept, if c.j.mac is gone, eh, Zeller.

I think this "Bennett falling to 8" scenario hinges on Charlotte. If they pass on him, that opens the door for something weird to happen on Thursday.

I'm still not a fan, but there's players I like a lot less than him.

He's obviously talented offensively, but he lacks the quickness to cover SFs and he doesn't have the height to defend PF's. Also his weight issues are a little troubling.
I'm definitely worried about picking him.

Curious how you feel about Bazz and MCW. They both have much more significant red flags--MCW's shooting and inconsistency and Bazz's historically bad advanced stats, age, and mediocre efficiency vs NCAA comp. Bennett is pretty long and strong and he had terrific efficiency numbers, blew MCW and Bazz out the water despite Bennett being younger (he just turned 20).

I ask because, while i have doubts about him too, he doesn't seem to me nearly the risk those two are. He should be able to score and be a difficult match up, and he's got the athleticism and body to develop lots of other stuff. I'm not sure you can assume any skills of the other two will translate and they were worse college players to begin with. Their success seems totally contingent on developing new skills and learning new ways of playing.

There is no bigger red flag than being too short to play one position and not fast enough to play the other. Tweener F's in the lottery have an abysmal success rate.

That's probably a good comparison and I'd be all for taking him IF we were on the cusp of contending...

From what I've read here I don't like this guy and would much rather take Caldwell-Pope. I think the guy is underrated ala Paul George and Kawhi Leonard (not making player comparison but rather the fact they were overlooked by lots of teams)

I think KCP is the ideal sg fit for this team and could be a steal at 8

It's a rumor. But, basically, Bennett isn't likely going to happen.

What about #8 for MKG?

Why would Detroit want a SG That cant shoot??

He's not, and they don't.

It's not exactly a "red flag"since not being tall is something that anyone can see, but I see your point. I don't disagree with you-- being too small or too slow is a big deal--but what is the recent history of short PFs drafted pretty high? Bennett's a big boy, a strong 240 lbs. I can think of Elton Brand as a success and Ike Diogu as a failure, Derrick Williams as a probably-not guy (though he's only 22 now). Thad Young is a modest success story, though he plays some sf and is bit taller and skinnier than Bennett. The other guys that come to mind like Craig Smith or Baby Davis weren't on Bennett's level as a prospect.

Are you thinking mostly of Derrick Williams, palace? If so, that seems like a good comp that should give us some concern.

I think Bennett would flourish next to a defensive C if he fully committed to being a stretch 4 (and not a SF). IMO, he'd be a good fit in Washington next to Nene/Okafor or in Charlotte next to Bismack.

IF Monroe is traded, I could see that otherwise i'd say pass on him.

I'd take Bennett in a heart beat. We sometimes forget that advantage/dis goes both ways. No traditional PF would be able to guard him and he'll give SF fits and foul trouble. I like his swagger and he's just the type of energy we need to market the team and get fans back in the seat.

I'd be ok with taking Bennett if he falls.

Side note, was just watching this highlight vid of him and the production quality is really good for a youtube video. This guy has a couple others as well for Len, Oladipo, Zeller, Porter, and Marcus Smart.. theyre worth checking out if you've got some time to kill.
