No Love for me....he can't jump, can't defend an shoots a lot of 3s

Mirotic is going to be our 3pt shooting big. No need for love too

Rose, Hinrich
Top FA, Nate Rob
Butler
LMA, Mirotic
Gortat, Plumlee

Get a scoring sg and your looking great

What we could have is
Garnett
Aldridge
P Pierce
E. Gordan
Rose

Trade Noah to the Blazers for Aldridge and there pick,
Boozer to Nets, Nets Crap to Boston and Garnett Here.
Deng for E Gordan,
Trade Blazers Pick, the 20th for a top pick and take Alex Len.

Pick up Pierce and now we have a championship team!

Except the Celtics have already said theyre gonna trade PP and not cut him. And no way do I want Gordon on this team, if we're 60+ pages in and ppl are really JUST now startin to talk about Noah injuries, gordon has missed something like 20 games since hes been in the L...im good

Plus he has pretty awful defense.

I agree, I prefer Aldridge. I think Miami would kill us by making Love defend the PnR.

Totally agree. I'm not hating on the guy, but his game just doesn't translate to the playoffs IMO.

Love is legit.

I just don't know if his offensive game is built for the playoffs.

Exactly. Aldridge has a more polished back to the basket game and a strong go to move with that turnaround jumper. He also doesn't float out to the 3-point line like Love tends to do. Plus Aldridge has more mobility defensively to play in Thibs' system. Not that I'd say no to Love, but I'd prefer Aldridge.

Aldridge hasn't really shown that he has an offensive game built for the playoffs. In 18 playoff games he's averaged 18 points and 6 rebounds on 46% shooting.

By comparison Boozer has a career playoff average of 18 points and 11 rebounds on 49% shooting.

Edit -- Sorry just realized I was looking at Aldridge's per 36 playoff averages. His actual numbers are 20 and 7 in 40 minutes. Boozer's numbers are also reflected in per 36 which is also his career average.

I'd love to see Aldridge play a playoff series alongside Derrick and see what happens, how much more space and better opportunities he has to work with. Also, he would destroy Miami's front court.

If Plumlee and Dieng are available, Bulls are taking Plumlees 17 & 10 over Diengs 9 & 9...Plumlee has way more to his game and you can teach defense much easier than teaching offense

Ralph has already mentioned that everyone but Rose and Noah are on the table. If the Bulls would've offered Noah, Aldridge would've been a Bull months ago. Bulls aren't trading Noah and will likely stand pat before moving him for LMA or Love.

I would too, but don't forget that he played with a prime Brandon Roy and also had Andre Miller there at one point.

Wide-open jumpers all day.

And if teams close out hard, Aldridge can put the ball on the deck.

I'm curious, did you watch many Duke game this year? While Plumlee might have more athleticism/game, he is astonishingly stupid when it comes to basic things like not making dumb passes or picking up cheap fouls. He'd drive Thibs crazy.

I think people trying to diminish Aldridge as a legit second option are like old maids who will never get married because they're waiting for their perfect man. We're very unlikely to get a better second option than Aldridge, both in terms or production and fit. You wish he was a few years younger, but besides that, he's ideal. Gives us great interior defense and versatility when paired with Noah. Great in the PnR with Rose. Can space the floor a bit so things don't get clogged up with Rose. He's really ideal. That doesn't mean you overpay, but it does mean that if you think we do need an upgrade second option to win, you have to make a serious, not "lets hope we can Pau them" offer.

The thing about trading Noah is that everyone loves him so much - the FO, his teammates, and the fanbase. I know that we want to have objective debates here without bringing emotional attachments into it, but that's just really hard with Noah. I really feel like Noah has completely won the heart of the fanbase in a way that is rare. He is legitimately LOVED by this fanbase. For all his intangibles, his passion, his energy, the way he goes all out on the court, the way he has taken on the role of vocal leader(which is especially important when your superstar is very introverted and shy and not great with the media), and even for his eccentricities(he's a character). That's all in addition, of course, to his actual basketball skills, of which there are many. I also feel like that connection is given even more weight when you remember how Jo struggled so much in his rookie year and the first half of his sophomore year, how he started blossoming after the Big Ben trade, and how he had his coming out part in that year's Boston series, and what he has become since. That play in game 6 of the Boston series when he stole the ball from Pierce, took it all the way, and posterized him...that's a career-altering play, imo, for a guy who was in Jo's position at the time. That was the moment he won my heart, and I suspect it's the same for a number of you as well.

He's just the kind of guy who in twenty years, when he's retired, could attend a Bulls game, and when they show him on the jumbotron, he gets a huge cheer all those years later, not just a 'hey you used to play for us and we like you' cheer, but like, a huge cheer. You're not supposed to let emotional attachments get in the way of basketball decisions, but when the guy the FO, his teammates, and the fanbase has the emotional attachment to also has a big impact on the basketball court and is on a very reasonable contract, it would make it very difficult to trade him.

I'm rambling but I just felt like making that point, and also to try to explain to non-bulls fans who might be reading this thread why some of us, and even maybe our FO, find it so difficult to think about trading this guy.

Dieng plays below the rim, hes weak and has no offensive game besides a jumper he makes every now an then

Plumlee has extreme athleticism for a bigman an finishes strong above the rim. Plus he has a great NBA body. Plumlee is a perfect backup center. He pushed Dieng around when Duke played Louisville. Imo Plumlee has a higher cieling and Dieng will just get better at what he does right now. He will never be a offensive player...at least plumlee can give you that threat. Honest opinion

I think it comes down too this....

Its easier to find defense than finding legit post threat who can score anytime he wants too

Bulls are going to win games no matter what. As I mentioned before....marcin gortat is a free agent next year and provides a lot of noahs defensive qualities

Gotta get LMA imo

Maybe a Mozgov would be enough if we move Noah. He's decent when given minutes and is huge, athletic, and cheap.

Boom.

LaMarcus Aldridge has wanted out of Portland since the last week of the Trail Blazers' season and did not resign sponsorship deals in Portland this past year, including agreements with Cadillac, Chevy, and Providence Hospital while asking to get out of a lease on his Pearl District condo.

Aldridge tried to put a clause into his lease that he will not have to pay penalties if he was traded.

“This is why I hate being in Portland,’’ Aldridge said during the last week of the season. “You can’t do anything.’’

According to the report, Aldridge would not only welcome a trade from the Blazers, but he hopes for one, believing the city is too boring and small.

Neil Olshey said he sympathized with the constant change Aldridge has gone through with the Blazers, but the GM was adamant he would not be shopping the All-Star forward.

“Well, I’ll tell you this: I’m not going to be making any phone calls to move him,’’ Olshey said. “But if the phone rings and it makes the team better ...’’
