Here is the Jason Quick article. Sounds like the Blazers' obnoxious former beat writer was trying to force a story or a trade request out of Aldridge and he didn't really get much. Regardless of whether Aldridge wants out or not, this is a rather poor piece of journalism.

So now that I can finally stop saying "wait for a legit source", LMA wanting out is legit. He should realize he has no leverage and there is no reason for them to trade him this off-season which usually means the Blazers can listen to all sorts of offers and doesn't have to take something less.

So, I'm not seeing this getting resolved at all.

Like I said earlier today, there goes his trade value. Every team in the NBA knows he is going on to bigger and better things when he is a FA. Clearly won't bring much in a trade now.

Wow, that is horrendous reporting.

And the wiretap headline is pretty misleading too.

Ranking the small fowards in the league he's what 5 or 6.

And four of those guys play in the east and he's still made the allstar team because coaches know what he can do.

The only reason the Bulls are considering trading DENG is because the emergence of Butler who they can get slighly less production at a third of the cost. but if they could move either of the two bad contracts in Boozer and Gibson then deng would not even be mentioned.

But as far as moving Noah? That's not gonna happen anyone who watches the Bulls play should understand why.

People don't want Deng because he can leave next year and seems to be injury prone. Otherwise he is a solid SF.

I am glad other people are picking up on this too.

Aldridge and Olshey both directly refute, IN QUOTES, that he has demanded a trade.

How does that quote get overlooked, and instead the wiretap focuses on Quick's unsubstantiated opinion?

How does the wiretap justify connecting what Quick said about Portland being boring, to Aldridge's quote that he cannot do anything without being investigated and reported on?

Quick takes this out of context. Aldridge was saying he hates being in Portland because of guys like Quick!! That there is nothing else going on, so guys like him drum up a story out of nothing.

Of course that seems to be lost on him.

No, it's not shocking that Portland isn't #1 on his list of places to be.

But he has always represented himself as having integrity and being a private, humble family man. He realizes the commitment he has made here and would probably rather see it through and honor his contract than drag up a bunch of drama. I have no doubt he will survey the landscape as a free agent and do what is best for him - hopefully Portland will be a good enough team that the money we can offer makes this the best place. I don't expect blind loyalty from him, but I do think we can expect personal integrity from him.

He is an expiring contract, his value will be more pronounced near the trade deadline. I would move Noah for Aldridge personally, but I'm obviously in the minority amongst Bulls fans.

Heat should see if they want Bosh
Bucks tricked me into being a diehard in 2001, LeBron is the 2nd best player ever, and pizza is awesome.

Isn't portland better than half of the NBA cities out there?

If the Rockets won´t add D12 they have to pursue LaMarcus Aldridge!!
Some nice talented players + picks could get a deal done...

Dallas, Detroit or especially Washington would be great, but I doubt they got the right offer for the Blazers frontoffice...

Portland would want too much in a trade. They're in a tough position to add but if they could somehow make their bench stronger and get a Asik-like center, then they could be a 7-seed perhaps.

RaptorNews wrote:Whether or not this story is true, Im tired of any players insulting the hometowns of NBA fans as if there's five proper cities to live in in the entire country. Portland is a great city with great fans.

We get it: LA is fun to live in when you're rich. Maybe focus on your game and the millions of dollars, fan worship, and women throwing themselves at you, and it won't seem so bad in whatever other major city you have to "suffer" in until you retire at 36

Fact is if these cities can support a major NBA team, there is stuff to do in them - and if you can't find something fun to do with millions of dollars in Portland, maybe you should expand your idea of what " stuff to do" is.

This is what I've never understood

Pro athletes all live in big cities. They act like their being forced to live in a small town of 400 people in Idaho.
If it's big enough to host a pro sports franchise, there's probably a decent amount to do.

even the smallest nba market is better than where most people in the real world live

As a Cavs fan im not tradeing portland a single thing unless LMA agrees to extend his contract. Im not giving you the number 1 pick, number 19 pick and Tristan Thompson for 2 years of LMA and watch him walk out the door. No, just no.

Aldridge for Cavs #1, # 19 and Tristan Thompson makes too much damn sense not to happen

I would like the Rockets to get Aldridge and keep Asik possible?
