Not sure trading deng and something else for aldridge would be a step up. I'd rather just see how this group can do next year then.

Only 1 ballhandler on the floor is a weakness in that starting 5 as well.

Those are reasonable. But I don't advocate blowing it up, unless there is a great offer out there. No lateral moves for me.

How can Deng and Taj plus a pick not be enticing to people?

Mirotic has to be traded in any deal for Aldridge. Also Mirotic's value drops for us if we have Aldridge as well.

Not at all. Mirotic then becomes a killer 6th man off of the bench.

Thibs could go Offense/Offense for short stretches as well with LMA at the 5 and Mirotic at the 4. Imagine how hard it will be to guard derrick when potentially all 4 guys on the floor with him are legit shooters.

I agree. He would be in a Kukoc role.

And hopefully he's even close to as good.

LMA is still a all-star, and not exactly NOT in the realm of these players. It's one thing talking about a solid role-player. But this is a franchise player we are talking about taking. Got to spend in order to get him, otherwise Portland hangs up the phone on us

BLowing it up would be giving away Deng and Taj for nothing. Even if you don't like Lamarcus Aldridge, or think he sucks. You can't sit here and say we gave up those two players for nothing. Lamarcus Aldridge isn't nothing. And moving players for him isn't blowing up anything.

looks like KG and Pierce are headed to brooklyn, which prolly knocks them outta contention to be our 3rd trade partner

I agree. I'd be slightly in favor of Deng/Gibson/Cha Pick for Aldridge. But I wouldn't consider it a bad offseason to bring back this group.

Option 3 is WAY too much for LMA, just on JB alone.

I'm sorry, but to me, JB is as important as Noah. I don't care what anyone says.

this isn't the illinois lottery. this is running a basketball team. giving up most of our quality assets for LMA is taking the super long-shot that all our numbers come up. i'll save my money, thank you very much

Mirotic has to be traded in any deal for Aldridge. Also Mirotic's value drops for us if we have Aldridge as well.

People need to remember that Mirotic said he is uninterested in the NBA unless he is playing for the Bulls or LA. He will not come over if he is not coming to one of those teams.

That's not our problem.

I'm interested to know, if people don't want LMA, who do they exactly plan on acquiring that would fit their requirements to trade everyone to be rumored in the trade, specifically Taj, Deng, Cha's pick, our picks, etc. And please save the "well, things change, so someone might become available". LMA is a someone. You have to pounce at the opp to get him, especially with Flip being hellbent on keeping Love in Minny.

We're gonna send out Taj, Deng, Rip, #49, #20, and 2 future 1st rounders...

..and bring in LaMarcus Aldridge, Thomas Robinson, and hopefully another draft pick, likely 10 or 19.

The Boozer amnesty cannot be overlooked with this. LMA and Robinson solidifies our PF spot for at least 3 years. We've got holes elsewhere. With Boozer's freed up space, we can welcome back Nate, not necessarily have to take the best backup C who will take the minimum, and then have a considerable amount of space left for a scorer at the 2. If JR Smith is in the $4 million range, we've gotta do that.

Could a 3 man rotation of Noah, Aldridge, and Mirotic work? With some defensive/rebounding big at backup center picking up spot minues.

Asking a lot of Noah, but I feel like Aldridge has the physical capabilities to succeed in Thibs defense.

And the offense would be nasty.

It is, considering he won't report unless he's with the Bulls or LA.
