Who on earth is Brooklyn trading for those two? I'm assuming Marshon Brooks, Gerald Wallace, and picks? They don't really seem to have a whole bunch of intriguing prospects, unless you count Brook Lopez who obviously won't be traded.

looks like KG and Pierce are headed to brooklyn, which prolly knocks them outta contention to be our 3rd trade partner
How the heck does Brooklyn have the trade assets for those guys but we don't?
i assume it would be brook lopez outgoing
interesting that brooklyn comes up in this thread. they seem to be the team people want to turn the bulls into by trading for LMA. and didn't some zero superstar team just beat brooklyn in the playoffs...?

Celtics don't want big salary, or long term contracts you would think. They are definitely in crash and rebuild mode.

Let's see what 'ol J-Kidd can do with it!
These are basically a bunch of friends running a basketball team. Gonna be a fun organization to watch next season.

How is this team gonna get any better if we aren't making moves?

A team with Rose, Noah, Butler, Aldridge, and Thibs aren't even comparable to the Brooklyn Nets. Do you work for FoxNews with this type of spin?

this isn't the illinois lottery. this is running a basketball team. giving up most of our quality assets for LMA is taking the super long-shot that all our numbers come up. i'll save my money, thank you very much
For who are we going to give up those assets, who let's face it, are going to be more valuable to other teams, than to us? Please name names.

It's not that it isn't enticing. It's that it is not that enticing to Portland. Batum is a younger version of Deng (who is a very good player) but he gets more assists and shoots it much better from 3-pt range. Taj, for all his accolades, is a part time bench player and the pick if this year is bad and if the Charlotte pick, too far away.
Not that those are poor pieces, they just don't fit with Portland very well.

But besides their pick who would Port want from them for LA?

That Wallace contact is terrible, but that's not a terrible package for a couple aging players on a declining (and tanking team).
They oughta send Rondo out, too. He's not a championship point guard in this league. Ainge is not foreign to the blow-up.

..and bring in LaMarcus Aldridge, Thomas Robinson, and hopefully another draft pick, likely 10 or 19.
The Boozer amnesty cannot be overlooked with this. LMA and Robinson solidifies our PF spot for at least 3 years. We've got holes elsewhere. With Boozer's freed up space, we can welcome back Nate, not necessarily have to take the best backup C who will take the minimum, and then have a considerable amount of space left for a scorer at the 2. If JR Smith is in the $4 million range, we've gotta do that.
I like it!
Rose,JR,Butler,LMA,Noah,Kirk,Nate,Marco,TRob,Teague plus draftee
not enthusiastic with JR though, but i'll take it if it happens.

Re: According to Mike McGraw, Aldridge wants the Bulls
As I said in the draft rumors thread - too many old personalities on that team for it to work. Brooklyn must think they are *this close* to being a title contender. They're not. Pierce and Garnett only make them older. If it were just Garnett for Hump, I'd consider that a nice addition. Plus, giving up all those picks? It's going to bite them in the ass.
2024: Maybe there's some hope?

It looks like they are shaping up to be the pre-2008 celtics.
