Rondo's flaws would get exposed badly.

Plus, with Rondo as a scoring leader without PP and KG they would win like... 15 games?

The nets would significantly improve with this supposed trade, any gm would be dumb not to do it.

I doubt it happens, though, unfortunately.

For one season - maybe. And then they're out three #1 picks, no MLE, no ability to sign and trade. Hows that 2014-2015 Nets team looking?

Still better than the current state of the nets.

The current state of the Nets get to keep their first round picks. I don't think trading away the only tools you have to improve, for a couple of 36/37 year olds is a smart thing to do. But maybe thats just me.

You do know that the Nets have Brook Lopez, right?

And i don't agree with your initial statement in the first place, Rondo doesn't score nearly as much as D-Will, he can take the pressure off of Pierce and KG on that end at times.

You can't count out Brook Lopez too and how much playing next to KG will help his game. This would easily be the 2nd best team in the East. However, 3 1st rd picks may be too much. We'll see how it plays out.

I'd be down for that...

We have better picks too. Bobcats in 2016 unprotected, this years 20th pick, the rights to Mirotic (who would be a top 3 pick in this draft). Plus better players in terms of filling salary.

Noah
KG
Deng
Pierce
Rose

... Got dang. Although I don't know the combination of contracts that might work, the identity of that team is much better fitting.

Superstar in Rose, Stars in Deng and Noah, Solid defensive role players in pierce and KG. All works under thibs system.

I think they would have to include Deng. And Deng is light years better than Gerald Wallace and would also be expiring and not 3 years like GW.

That would leave

Rose
Butler
Pierce
KG
Noah

I think that is a perfect combination of youth, athleticism, talent, offense and defense. Still having Hinrich and Nate off the bench....man, the Bulls should maybe consider going in on this than anything else

As a C's fan it hurts to say that KG + Pierce would be better off in Brooklyn. Although Id take Rondo over Dwill every day they have size (Blatche and Lopez) and a scoring 2 guard (JJ) that we just dont have.

Shengelia + 22 + two future firsts is a decent package & Humphries expiring is ok. No problem with that part. But taking Wallace is a no.
Need more value if we take Wallace. Can we give you Terry also please.

Rondo -
Bradley - Lee - Crawford
Green - Shengelia
Sullinger - Bass
??? - Melo
+ 16 & 22
+ 3 picks from Brooklyn/LAC
+ all own picks

Thats a decent start to a rebuild.

This is terrible for the Celtics, they should rather keep PP/KG than do this deal.

The Nets will likely make the playoffs the next three years, those picks don't have much total value.

Next year's draft is supposedly really deep. Plus the celtics will more than likely be picking in the lottery for the foreseeable future.

Depending on what's involved, could be a great deal for the Nets.

None really holding that much value. And Gerald Wallace sort of is terrible not to mention he has 3 years 30 mil left..not a good idea for a rebuilding team. But who knows what will happen.

Ainge should get more value for taking Brooklyn's terrible contract, I think 5 1st round picks is more fair.

First Brooklyn tried so hard to become the Atlanta Hawks, now they want to be the Celtics? KG is at retirement age already, and how much does Paul Pierce have in the tank? One of those picks could easily be lottery in a few years

3 1st round pick is interesting, if only we could not take g-wall. could easily end up with at least one lotto pick. And are people really bringing up division as a reason not to? Divisions in the nba are almost meaningless, you play almost the rest of the conference the same amount of times as divisional opponents this isn't the NFL or MLB.

ESPNSteinLine: IF Nets could convince Celts to take on Gerald Wallace in deal for Pierce and KG, word is deal likely still couldn't happen before July 10
