really doesn't matter if a team is rebuilding........
if they were competing with one another for a playoff spot... sure maybe.

If anything it sets up a Celtics rise and a Brooklyn free fall in a few years.

Kinda what happens, when a team is going all in (like Brooklyn) while another begins a rebuild (celtics).
but the 3 first round picks is pretty big (they've shown they're more valuable in the new cba) and I do think Ainge is trying to put Garnett/PP in a position to win too. (that's what many gms do when they have to trade their vets/former superstar players)

Rondo/TWill
Bradley/Crawford
Wallace/Shengelia
Green/Sully
Bass/Hump/Melo

Supposedly Lee,Terry also included.

Man this team would suck Badly. I suspect RONDO will be on the trading block too. No way he stays if the Celtics are heading into the lottery.

Lawrence Frank has decided to join Kidd in BK now too. If they get KG and PP, there are alot of great basketball minds on that team. He was an assistant on Celtic in 2011 so he knows KG and Pierce too.

Offensively, Brooklyn were pretty good last year, their problem was on the defensive end, KG should solve that, big time. I really like this move for BK if it goes through. Boston come out OK too IMO, 3 picks would be great to get back, though I am a bit worried about Wallace contract being included. Might not hurt too much, isn't it three years left? That's basically two years and he's an expiring ready to be moved at the deadline.

Ainge is clearly going all out for Wiggins. That team wouldn't score 70 points per game.

Really? That starting lineup is pretty damn good.

A new roster, with a 1st year coach who has zero experience. Good luck with that

Outsider looking in, IMO Ainge should try to get a guy to pair Rondo with for the future.

Not picks. Maybe Aldridge, maybe someone else. Get 2 young/prime players in Rondo & ? and then get some complimentary players. The right trade is out there. KG and Pierce are old, but a team wants to sell tickets and do some play-off damage might go for it.

I don't know who wins this deal.

Boston gets not so good players in return, they end up having no center, they 1st round picks but how good are these?

KG and Pierce can play 2 more years, then they are off the books. Meanwhile Nets got rid of a horrible contract being Wallace and they start to reform their roster again.

I guess Nets win.

Trade might seem beneficial to both teams but BK is going to regret trading away 3 1st rnders big time.

With this trade Brooklyn throws away their future to be possibly the best team in the East & become instant contenders.

Terrible deal for the Celtics.

As a Knick fan, this makes me nervous.
My lifetime better have a Knicks championship.

Boston is rebuilding. Financially, this is a big win. Add in the picks for aging veterans, this is a no brainer for them. For Brooklyn, they are currently a first-second round team. Add Pierce and Garnett and they instantly become better. How much better? That's what we'll find out if the deal comes to fruition. But in the coming years, giving up those picks are going to bite the Nets.

I like the deal for both sides, but if Terry/Lee are included to shed more salary for Boston, they come out as winners.

That coach also happens to have one of the best basketball minds EVER.

And? He could also be one the of the worst coaches in the league

A team with that kind of veteran leadership doesn't need friggin Popovich to get them to play good ball. They are such a veteran team that you could probably coach them to success. Plus Frank just got on board who is a veteran coach to help kidd along the way.

That is one hell of a starting 5.

This sounds like a trade a Nets fan on the Trade & Transactions board would propose after playing around in the Trade Machine.

I know because I've proposed equally awful trades benefitting the Raptors hahaha

This move basically is

Nets try to win the chip in 2 years and be bottom feeders afterwards.
Boston rebuilds

- Humphries is in the final season of deal.
- Wallace has 3 yr/30 mil remaining. You could possibly flip him if willing to sacrifice one of those first rounders onto a team with cap space that strikes out this summer.
- Now about the firsts, Brooklyn owes Atlanta a couple of future firsts so I suppose they could trade this year's pick to Boston AFTER the draft, but the other two 1st would have to be 2017 and 2019.
- Garnett and Pierce probably are gone in the next year or two so BK is gonna have some issues replacing when they're tied to D-Will, Lopez and JJ's contracts. This could make those draft picks really intriguing several years from now.

That is false about the Nets owing the Hawks 1st's. They have the option to swap only so the own all their 1st rounds for the foreseeable future. The Nets 3 first would probably be two picks from this draft as I think they have a Marshawn Brooks trade for Minny's #26 already agreed upon and they own the #22 so I think those would be two of the picks and then their 2015 1st would be the 3rd since they can't trade back to back 1st's.

If I had to guess it would be.
Brooks to Minny for #26 (separate deal)

then

Hump/Wallace/#22/#26/2015 1st/filler if needed for Pierce/Garnett/Lee

Obviously a solid deal for the Nets as they are now contenders and the C's go into full rebuild by shedding a ton of salary. Pretty good deal for each I think.

If you're Boston and you've essentially resigned yourself to rebuilding for the next several years, why not do this? Sure Wallace is a horrid contract but you're not contending for 3 to 4 years and you'll have to spend some money anyway. In a couple years Wallace becomes an expiring contract that you can flip him for someone else. And while the picks may not seem that valuable now, given Garnett's and Pierce's ages chances are the Nets won't be a contender and you're drafting a lot higher by the time you have to use them.
