I'd much rather have Noah and KG over Aldridge and someone that sucks.

Given those two options - I agree.

I get Blake Griffin sells tickets but the dude is overrated. I don't understand why people want this guy so bad.

it was lebron and dwaded, then now its portland and lamarcus aldridge.

I was actually thinking that earlier - but more in regards to LMA using the Bulls to get Portland to add players around him.

Is it a good thing or a bad thing that it's really quite right now?

Add Adridge to the list of 100+ page threads that didn't materialize for the bulls.

Howard to LAC
Aldridge to LAL
Griffin to POR

Kind of a straight-forward trade that seems to satisfy every team and every player except Blake Griffin, who is locked up until 2017 anyway.

Lets be serious guys -- Chicago's assets don't even come CLOSE. Things that further hurt the Bulls assets:

1. Taj and Noah are 28. Still a little (and I stress "little") room to improve offensively, but they are who they are... And they are a whole tier below any one of the above mentioned bigs.

2. Mirotic has the ability to scare a trade destination and say "I don't want to play there." Pretty much a useless trade asset.

3. Hasn't been mentioned, but Deng ALSO has the ability to do this if Gar tries to get a 1st for him (in a bigger LA trade). Not that I see it happening, but let's say Cavs, Wizards or Kings agree to take Deng for their lotto pick... Luol can say "I'm not signing an extension there," and there goes any desire for those teams to even consider the scenario.

4. Bobcats pick is still about 50/50. Charlotte can draft 2 studs in the next 2 drafts (esp. next year), sign 2 max FAs, develop Walker and MKG and all of a sudden that pick turns into #15-20. I think most GMs are aware of this, so I highly doubt this is a deal-breaking trade chip.

5. Thomas Robinson... getting offered for very underwhelming deals.

I'm taking my head out of dream-scope -- Aldridge to Chicago would be miraculous. It would honestly take Taj, Noah, Charlotte 1st, and a lottery pick acquired by moving Deng or somebody, before Portland seriously considers the Bulls. I would still do that, because you're turning about $34M of salary into $15m for LA. Once you clear Boozer and add MIrotic, that's a nice core with cap space to ADD to. Our defense would take a big hit by losing our 3 top dogs, but that's what it costs to get a top-5 PF in his prime. *shrug* With KG, Dirk and Duncan in their late 30s, I'll actually claim Aldridge is a top-3 big man in all of the NBA. Only a healthy Howard can really trounce him. Griffin, Marc, Hibbert, Noah, Bosh, Love, Horford none are as well-rounded.

The problem here is that not once in this process was it every reported that it was actually going to happen. From the first floor it was clear that it was going to be tough to pull off at this moment.

And, you know, it might still happen.

Most of these trades don't happen because the team trading away the superstar/star player always want to believe that they can somehow convince the player to stay with them. I don't think most GMs are like the Utah GM who pulled the trigger at the right time before it became a bigger distraction.

The Portland GM has to look at reality. If they let it go to next year, LMA is more frustrated and it is not that Portland is going to be in the WCF next year or two. They will get less for LMA and the rebuilding will take more time. The smarter GM is the one who knows when to pull the trigger and is not scared of public criticism.

Why not make it a 4 way?

Chicago In: LMA / Garnett
Chicago out: Hamilton / Gibson / Luol

Portland in: Horford / Hamilton
Portland Out: LMA

Boston in: Luol / Lou Williams
Boston out: Rondo / Garnett

Atlanta in: Rondo / Gibson
Atlanta out: Horford / Lou Williams

Al Horford, Anthony Davis, Brook Lopez, or Blake Griffin. We can't get any of these guys. and if we could we would be better served just staying with them. Only reason LMA is considered is because he mentioned us as his preferred destination.
If this report is true then Portland has heard all offers and will not trade LMA or they are just trying to drive up offers. i think they wont be moving him. might as well stay where we are and build our team as is. maybe deng will net us something good (it seems like he's going to get moved. itll be intresting to see what happens)

If we're living out fantasies - I'd rather leave Portland out and just get Horford. He's the better player anyways.

Good if you're excited about drafting Tim Hardaway Jr or a backup center from Kansas or something.
Scottie Pippen's response to whom he would pick for his running mate, Michael or LeBron: "That's a dumbass question. I've never done anything with LeBron. I wouldn't take LeBron to the movies."

Breaking news: Portland would be willing to trade Lamarcus Aldridge for a player better and younger than Lamarcus Aldridge. Keep checking in on channel 9 news as this shocking story develops.
