Haha. Rumors like this happen every year. Less than 1% chance this goes down, and I'm being generous. I swear the media just does this to get readers/followers. Probably get the ideas from RealGM boards and claim it as a source. Technically it's not a lie.

Dumping Terry would be nice, but ditching 2 years/10 mil doesn't take much of the sting out of 3 years/$30 mil.
An ugly deal.
nets could take both signing and trading bogans to a 1 year 4m deal and including him
How? KG/Pierce/JT/Lee combine to make 38 mil. You need 30+ mil in outgoing salaries to match that.

This deal is simply horrible. I'm just going to have to have faith that Ainge wouldn't want any part of that Wallace deal in a rebuild. It's pretty much the opposite of what we need and a few late 1sts don't make it worth it.
We aren't rebuilding we are retooling with assets. We will more than likely be going the Denver Nuggest route but with better players. Rondo is better than Lawson and Green is better than Gallinari. I full expect for the C's to be a playoff team next year in a weak Eastern conference.

Very few here are asking for teams to give us all their good prospects and take Lee and Terry and give us draft picks. All we're asking is not to take back Gerald Wallace's bad contract when we trade Pierce and KG for a couple first round picks. Nobody needs to take on our bad contracts or give us Brook Lopez for me to think we got a reasonable deal; I just don't want us to take their bad contracts in exchange for giving them two high quality veteran starters. It's not as if the Nets are doing us a favor by taking Pierce and KG off our hands. KG was an all star last season, and Pierce was an all star two seasons ago. They are genuinely good players and we shouldn't have to take back a horrendous contract to avail ourselves of them just to accumulate a few late first rounders.
Also, why are you resistant to Josh Smith coming but welcome Gerald Wallace with open arms? Josh Smith will probably only earn a few million more per year than Gerald Wallace, and he is three years younger and enormously better.

His deal is longer but there's also a chance he becomes an asset while JET would be nothing due to age. Crazy deal though..major blockbuster trade. I absolutely hate how we will help Brooklyn get rid of that hideous Wallace contract and be stuck with it for 4 years. What the hell is Ainge thinking on this one? I call Brooklyn winning the east if this goes down. Garnett and Lopez will be tough to handle. Pierce, Johnson and Dwill is straight up SICK.
i'd rather get rid of Lee, he is 28 iirc, extra year on deal, not a proven vet sniper, would be harder to move imho... plus his play from last year just left me feeling he puts up empty stats

Can someone please summarize this rumor for a hapless late arrival? How many picks are involved?
Thank you.
Basic framework of the deal is that the Celtics would trade Pierce and KG for Humphries' expiring contract, Gerald Wallace (who has a three-year $30 million contract), Tomike Shengelia, and three future first round picks.
Thanks. Well now...
If the trade is done before the draft the picks would have to be nonconsecutive years. So it would either be 2013, 2015, and 2107; or 2014, 2016, and 2018.
If trade is done right after the draft, and the Nets choose for the Celtics tonight (Ledo?), then it could be 2013, 2014, and 2016.
If the far-off picks are unprotected, this could be a very good deal. Pierce and KG will be gone by then and the Nets will revert to being the Nets. Unprotected picks can be gold.
Also it means some tankness might be order for a season.

Even if they get Wiggins next year you still have Wallace for 2 more years who plays the same freakin position has Wiggins/Parker and a guy we already have in Green. I hate it. Nothing about this deal is good. late first round picks spread out over 5 years? ewww.
The expiring deal of Hump is simply offset by the garbage deal that Wallace has. Brooklyn HANDCUFFED themselves with the Wallace deal and EVERYONE across the league knew it the moment he signed the contract. Now Ainge wants to bail those bums out? DON'T DO IT. I can stand to see PP/KG return to the Garden once for a tribute video and standing ovation. I CANNOT deal with seeing them all season long
I don't think you are appreciating how limited Ainge's options really are. Wallace could easily return to form of a year ago and be a trade asset at the deadline or in the offseason.

The East won't be weak if this deal happens. Nets would be serious title contenders. Bulls will be getting Rose back as well.

It doesn't matter which route we are going down. Either way we are going to want cap flexibility, which will allow us to facilitate a much greater array of deals. Wallace's deal essentially kills that flexibility for a guy who is old and isn't that good.

I'd do KG and Bass for Kris Humphries and an unprotected 2016 no. 1 draft choice.
We dump a salary and get a pick.

Trade machine's busted right now - it approved a Teletovic for Pierce and KG trade.

Lastly petronet has been respectfully here and is engaging in actually basketball debate so I don't get why some people are attacking him.
We don't have to take salary for them.
People get some bent out of shape. Celtics souldn't have to take a terrible contract to get rid of those guys.

I don't want Wallace here at all so I don't why you would assume that. Also Im not in favor of getting josh smith. I was in favor of trading for josh smith to pair him up with pierce and Kg and just retool but since we are rebuilding I don't want that. It makes no sense. Lastly I was just saying for those that are saying that this is a bad deal to look more closely at it and let it all play out. Furthermore , we shouldn't expect to get too much for them. If we take out Wallace , I do this dead in a heartbeat. Anyways since almost everyone keeps on mentioning on every deal we are involved in that this is a bad contract, what constitutes a bad contract on your eyes.

LOL!
PS I reject this trade. Randolph is going to be the white version of Shaq.
