Bennett thinks he can play small forward, which would be an absolute disaster... Derrick Williams all over again. Would much rather have Adams than Bennett.

That said, I really don't want him. I don't know how many times forward tweeners have to bust in the NBA before teams finally realize they don't work in the pros. Seriously, what was the last time a forward tweener had success in the NBA? Stromile Swift, Marvin Williams, Mike Beasley, Derrick Williams, etc. Bust, bust, bust, bust.
Carmelo Anthony. Check out his per 36 college stats and compare them Bennett. Almost exactly the same. Bennett is earily similar to Melo in measurements as well. Style of play, repertoire oof moves, strengths, weaknesses. Everything. Very similar players

Like you say, the bust potential is very high for Bennett but I counter that the point is the same for every player in this draft. Crazy draft!

Bennett and Anthony are not the same. Anthony has much more scoring prowess. not to mention is taller and leaner. Also not Bennett is more of an athlete at the rim player, who has a lot of points assisted, where Melo is an iso player.

Agreed. Outside of similar numbers in per36 I guess, I don't see any single similarity of Bennett to Anthony. I think the Derrick Williams comparison is much closer..... and scarier.

It means nothing if Bennett falls to #10. I don't think Portland worked him out so I don't see them taking him unless it's for someone else in a trade down scenario, which I have no clue as to with who.

I also read on Bleacher report that there were no trades submitted by the 2pm deadline so the draft order is set.

Just because a player doesn't workout for a team doesn't mean a team won't take the player. It happens all the time. They've done enough scouting on these guys throughout the year that just because he didn't come in for a 2 hour workout means nothing.

If Bennett slides to us we should take him. He thinks he can play the 3 but once he gets to the league he'll realize that he could bulk up and really do damage down low. No way I'd take Zeller or Adams over him.

Biggest riser in draft is S.Karasev. Lots of jockeying to get to 9 or 10 to grab him. We have Oladipo falling: sheridanhoops.com/2013/06/27/moc…

Oladipo @ #8
Adams @ #10

I'd take both over him he is too much like Derrick Williams I will admit it is tantalizing, from the videos I have watched. I just don't think so he is now 255 and has an injury. I go for those two.

Sacramento has been aggressive in trying to move up from seventh in the draft, league sources tell Y! Likely target: Ben McLemore.

League sources say Utah has interest in including Kanter if it can move up.

I like Kanter, I'd be up for that

Kanter for #10? That's interesting. Utah then jumps ahead of a few teams from #14 to get a pointguard. Plus they can still get a center with #14. Would the #21 be in play or is it too much to ask? How is their cap space? Could Portland dump Freeland onto them?

they will have a ton of cap-space

you have to be a little cautious about evaluating Kanter because of his limited playing time. But his defensive numbers, such as they are, are outstanding. And he's a solid rebounder

it's hard for me to believe Utah had a pick as low as the 10th in mind when they allegedly said Kanter was available. the 10th + freeland would be a steal

My guess is it would have to be something like Matthews + 10th + rights to Papanikolaou for Kanter + 21st

Whats your problem with Derrick Williams? He is a solid NBA Player.
The only problems were that he was the #2 Pick and stuck behind Love. The Wolves tried to make him a 3 because they had Love and that kinda **** Williams.
When Love was injured he played some pretty good games. At #10 that would be good value.

They'd use Kanter to get into the top 5, not the 10th pick. That's extremely wishful thinking on anyone's part here.

I dont think Utah would trade Kanter for any Pick in this Draft.
They love the Kanter/Favors frontcourt and both showed lots of promise.

Those trade offers would be a joke to any Utah fan.
