Boston had raised the Garnett-Pierce package with a Western Conference team, but very few places, if any, would go all-in like Nets on this.

I take this is as pierce and Kg are vey available so bring you best offers guys.

I guess they are thinking maybe we let him play next year and he has a stronger season and some contender will want him later. Idk..

Not saying we would get lottery picks for dude, but I don't think he is some major albatross - especially if we shed Terry or Lee in the process? And 3 Nets picks, in 2014, 2016 and 2018? For guys about to retire?

It would provide us with the assets that put a lot of options on the table going forward.

Hump/Wallace would be coming off the bench for us behind Sully/Green

This doesn't help fill any need on our team

Frankly... If at the end of the big three era all we get for Allen, pierce and kg is 3 protected first then ainge failed at blowing it up at the right time.

Humphries, Wallace & late first rounders = "all-in"

I think they mean the Nets are going all in taking both PP & KG. Not all-in as to what they're giving up.

Ainge didn't fail. Only ainge or a few other Gm Maybe bird would have the balls to do what ainge is doing. Try and trade away your franchise players. Most gms would keep them for sentimental reasons and that would get them fired.

Ha ha. Exactly. The value of both have been set. Nothing less than a three first rounders would suffice. You also hve to take on a bad contract.

Let's say we do the following deal:

KG/Pierce/Lee for Humphries/Crash/Teletovic/3 picks.

Heading into next year's draft/free agency period, we'd have the following assets to trade:

As many as NINE draft picks
2014 Celts, Nets, Clippers (we'd have to draft for someone and then trade to get to 9 picks)
2015 Celts, Clippers
2016 Nets
2017 Celts
2018 Nets
2019 Celts

$12.5m in expiring contracts
Bass 7m
Terry 5.5m

Multiple young prospects
Avery
Sullinger
Melo
2013 pick

Established starters
Rondo at 1y/13m
Green at 2y/18.5m
Crash at 2y/20.5m

Miscellaneous
Teletovic
Bird Rights on Humphries and Crawford
All future 2nd rounders plus Nets in 2014

I don't see the big problem here.

If Danny trades KG/PP and gets back two overpaid backups and end of the 1st picks this is a massive failure. People are rightfully going to ask for his head

this.

if you add terry thats 31 million in salary and taking on a net of 10 million in salary. nets would be at 99 million in salary for next season after this deal. thats before using their MMLE and filling out with vet mins.

not many owners are doing that sort of thing with the new CBA tax penalties

Nice list. My guess would be Houston and Dallas. Both are trying to get Dwight Howard. The other team would be the warriors.

Hmmm, I was assuming it would be tonights pick (BK would draft him, but then trade it to Boston, so that they can still offer next years), 2014, and 2016.

Honestly, if there is a way to move Crash in a three team trade I would not mind this at all. 2 yrs 20.5 isnt terrible, but it's also not an asset. And I really hope that Brooks gets flipped to Minny for their pick, which comes our way as well, but nobody is reporting that.

Warriors have $25m in expiring contracts, all future picks after today, plus Barnes and Curry.

Oh... and their owner was a minority owner of the Celtics until he bought them a couple of years ago.

Return to Boston Celtics
