I thought it was Humphries, Wallace, Bogans and Evans?

Not sure rondo is a fan of humphries.

Not a fan of Wallace's salary but I like the first round picks. Not a bad deal for two players on their last legs.

Rondo, Jeff Green, Sullinger, Bradley and about 6 first round picks.

It will likely be traded well before that.

For a 2020 1st and a 2022 2nd rounder. Start looking at grade schoolers.

Would sure love to know if those first rounders are unprotected. The 2014 one, at least, would be subject to Atlanta's ability to swap picks if the see fit but the other two need to be unprotected.

Who can provide a nice little writeup of Shengalia?

I'm not as convinced as some that this is a prelude to a tank. Celtics could still flip the expiring deals and Bradley or a pick for Josh Smith as was discussed as a followup to the Pierce-to-Cavs deal, which would set them up for a big trade using their loads of draft picks and young players in 2014. And they would still be a really mediocre team this year because they would have no center, so they would probably still get a lottery pick. Just one alternative to playing everything out as is after the deal is finished.

Guys this so bad....its not even funny...Hump is expiring but he still need to be paid as does Wallace. you can let KG retire and buy out pierce for 5mil. rather then pay 42 MILLION DOLLARS FOR 3 LATE ROUND PICKS WHEN WE WILL AREADY LIKELY HAVE HIGH 2ND ROUNDERS!!!!!!

42 MILLION
42 MILLION
42 MILLION

THIS IS NOT WORTH 3 LATE ROUND PICKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EVEN IF WE HIT ON THESE PICKS ITS NOT WORTH IT.

MOVES LIKE THIS IS WHY THE NETS COULDNT WIN...NOW WE ARE BAILING THEM OUT!!!

Wouldnt it suck if KG and Pierce retire from the Nets....they could actually rebuild faster then us while coughing up picks to us.

Is this some of you guys first rebuild with Danny Ainge?

This is what he does. Trust me when I say this will be the first of many, many moves he'll make. He has a plan.

3 1st round picks for a guy who will retire and another guy who would otherwise get bought out is amazing.

I can only imagine what detractors would want for Rondo. LBJ, Bosh and a 1st for Rondo? Okay okay I'll throw in Chalmers. Delusional...

Good move for the nets. However they are still not strong enough to get past the heat.

The contract of Wallace is assinine..I rather would have had a serviceable young center in Jordan then a washed up overpaid back-up SF.

We can let KG retire, buy out Pierce for 5 mil and start carving out wiggle room for FA rather then pay Hump and Wallace....if its being brought to ownership they should shoot this down.

I'm really mixed on this, they need to get that 2016 pick with little to no protection. Williams will have just come off his age 32 season, J. Johnson will have been 34. KG and Pierce will be gone at that point. And the three guys on the roster (DWill, JJ and Lopez) will be paid $60M. Plus not much young talent. That has a really high train wreck potential, now that I think about it.

Of course, like mentioned up-thread, if civilization comes to an end by then, then the Nets would have really made out with this.

We're getting 3 1st round picks for two 37 year old players who could realistically only play a year for the Nets.

I think some of you need to tone down your expectations. You should've learned your lesson with the Clippers not willing to offer Bledsoe. Teams are not about to give the Celtics any great young player or a lottery pick for KG & Pierce.

@ESPNSteinLine: Proposed Nets-Celtics trade has been presented to Kevin Garnett to waive his no-trade clause, sources tell ESPN

Seriously. This isn't a bad deal. Both guys might retire after next season and those picks could be gold in future years. 3 (!) 1st rounders is great to have stockpiled.

Wallace has an ugly contract, but it's only for three more years. In two years he will be a big expiring.

We may need his salary to make future trades as well. Might as well as collect the 1st rounders now.

you cant go 2 seasons in a row without a first rounder. regardless of whose first rounder it is.

fyi sometimes draft picks can be traded as part of another trade, you don't have to wait and use them :)

That's what I mean.

Buyout Pierce of $5 million and KG has $20 mil left.

Assuming KG plays 2 years, that's 25 million right there. We are spending upwards of $45 million on these deals.

If KG plays his ENTIRE CONTRACT, we are paying like $6-7 million per pick. Ridiculous

Three first round picks for a team that was not, with or without pp and kg, going to win an title is an amazing haul. Ainge has made a great deal to start the rebuild.
