This doesn't include the value that were likely to get for rondo and green.

If by a miracle the celtics can get wiggins or Parker, That's a ton of picks to surround him with a young, athletic and hopefully productive roster for the next 15 years. I know those are all big ifs and buts but I am ecstatic at that prospect than what I was looking at a week ago.

Are you sleep typing?

this is some dreamland, fantasy type nonsense

You sir are a very nagative person.

I get it, you rather roll with pierce, kg and rondo. Two men who are falling apart and one who can't shoot for crap and now you gotta worry about his speed.

I however will take my chances with the 4 first round picks we disnt have las week.

You want to field a team that wouldn't make the NCAA Tournament and then pray and hope for a miracle.

Why should I want that again?

We should be pretty big players at the deadline though (provided KG waives his no-trade). Humphries and Bogans expiring, plenty of picks, Bradley heading into restricted free agency.

Don't necessarily see the angle for trading Rondo yet. Pierce was 29 during that year that we were tanking for Durant and he got hurt. Rondo is 27. Those years go slower than people think. Chances are decent we never even use those Nets picks. We could be swinging them around as soon as this year.

ryaningf wrote:Nobody cares about Wyc's money. But when you can usually buy a late first for 3 million in just about any draft, it's a little bit of an indictment of this deal that we'd be paying the equivalent of 6-7 million for what will likely be at least one late first rounder, along with losing KG and Pierce and having to watch Humphries, Bogans, and Crash disgrace the uniform next year.

As I said earlier, there's nothing in this deal you can hang you hat on.

no team has sold a first round pick under the new CBA. it simply doenst make sense to. teams have sold second rounders, but you really cant afford to sell firsts in this era

I don't know why you would want that. You have your right to your opinion obviously. I however know the team will get worse before it gets better and I sure as hell don't mind facilitating that process

Why are people talking about trading Rondo and Green? Those two along with Sully and Avery are your core right now. You guys want to trade the friggin core and start with NOTHING but draft picks that are at best 50-50 chances of being complete BUSTS? Holy crap..the amount of faith people put in draft picks is amazing. They would rather get those than proven talent.

I for one hope Rondo is our Wade, Humpries, Lee, Bass, Wallace are our cap space makers for LeBron and Bosh and the draft picks are our Dexter Pittmans and Norris Cole's. If we are banking on a 2018 pick to be good to help our franchise we are screeeeweddd.

Also a strong possibility at this point that getting this close in discussions brings out other offers by the dozens. I don't remember the last time ainge and the celtics discussed a deal and got it done as quickly like this. Not in the social media era.

It's a good point, but the problem is the picks we've added aren't going to appreciate in value for awhile. We might not be the best positioned for a super-quick turnaround.

But Ainge is the type that would try (adding Toine and GP in 04/05). We'll see what Humphries/Bogans + picks/prospects can fetch at the deadline.

Wonder how Pierce feels about being traded to the team that tormented him in the pre big 3 era being coached by the guy that was a big part of those teams. Something about it feels wrong to me.
