Knicks can't go into next season without making some moves; Felton, Chandler.. something.

Heat, Pacers, Nets, Bulls all stand to be BETTER than last season next yr. Knicks cannot lose JR, Cope (along with Wallace, Kurt, Kidd, White, etc etc etc) and go in with a 'we'll see what happens' mentality. Either blow it up, or go for it.

Probably. They are doing what needs to be done, Ainge said it best yesterday, they were on year 5 of a 3 year plan.

The run was over, time to start over.

I just don't get how Wallace 3 years 30 mil left while being a NEGATIVE on the court is better than Amare's 2 years 30 mil left while being neutral sitting on the bench hurt and a positive when playing.

Unless the plan is to suck, but then you need to get rid of Rondo and Jeff Green too. And then sign Brandon Jennings and Monta Ellis.

I'm all for blowing it up because this core isn't going to take us anywhere. But we know that will never happen under Dolan.

Chandler/Camby
Amare
Melo
Shump/Novak
Felton

No depth besides a rookie and whoever we get off the scrap heap

Removing the depth aspect for a second, that lineup is not getting past any of Brooklyn, Miami, Indiana or Chicago. We need to do something. I'm not sure Grunwald is the guy who can pull something like this out of his ass. I would have more confidence with Walsh at the helm.

TA, something has to be done. We have to move in a direction whether that be regrouping with youth or adding a key piece. If we stay status quo this will be a waste of a year.

Would you like to also give up 3 future firsts?

Yea, that's a siiick team any way you slice it. If the goal is to win the championship, that starting lineup has all the components for it. Doesn't matter if they become a miserable franchise soon after if they get one championship for the state of New York.

Celtics say they need an answer from Garnett right away but KG says he doesn't want to be rushed to make his decision.

 Forget Miami, that team doesn't even get past Indiana or a Bulls team with a healthy Rose.

Pierce and KG are not the same players that they were two years ago. But some of you think that adding names somehow equates to being sudden contender. Look how well that worked for LAL.

Would be an amazing trade for Brooklyn at any point other than now. If the Heat didn't exist, they would have a legitimate shot to win the title. I don't see them getting past Miami even with PP and KG, even if they both stay healthy. They essentially get one shot at it. If they screw up, their entire future is screwed too.

The whole team got hurt. You can have every name in the World on your roster but if Chris Duhon is starting you're in trouble.

Amare has about 45 million left over those two seasons. His contract probably isn't preferable to Wallace because Boston has enough committed salary for next season that they don't need Amare's salary to pay the minimum salary and presumably Ainge is doing a full on rebuild so they don't care about Wallace's extra year.

Major difference between Pierce and KG being counted on as your 1st and 2nd best players compared to being the 4th and 5th best on the Nets. Less responsibility to shoulder, more production out of them

It's 45 million for Amare and he can't stay on the court long...

And who's to say that Pierce and KG will stay healthy for an entire season? Piece is going to turn 36 this year and Garnett is 37. They're just getting older. I see them dropping off the way Nash did this past season. But that's just what I see happening. I guess we'll see.

I just don't see how our Knick front office can top that even in a trade.

Don't really see this being a game changing move. Nets probably win the division and fizzle out early during the playoffs. Much like we did. Like I said, if this were 2011, I would totally be on board the Nets being a legit contender bandwagon.
