Ariza was an elite defender. I highly doubt Porter will be able to replicate his defensive production with his lack of lateral quickness.

OK, the deal is 2014 NO 1st +Noel for Jrue.

That is a GREAT trade for Philly! They can tank for Wiggins.

Surprised Zeller went so high. MJ is an unpredictable drafter. I'm excited about Porter. I liked him better than Bennett anyway. I'm confident that Porter will be a solid pro (a sort of Bobby Jonesesque 3 - good at both ends and in transition.) I'd like to see EG try to get a back-up PG in the 2nd rd (either via trade or bpa pick).

Philly was smart to take a step back. They should trade Thad Young & Evan Turner and burn SOB down!

Not feeling the Porter pick with Noel on the board.

Assuming Porter becomes a productive, borderline star, we're now looking at close to $35 million tied up in wing players going forward, with no longterm solution at center.

My tune would change if the Wizards somehow manage to sign Cousins next year, but until then, not picking Noel seems like an epic blunder from a roster composition perspective.

Philly is going to be epically bad next year. Boston will be bad next year if they make this KG & PP trade.

Hopefully lottery protected. If not, that's a big dice to roll.

Ariza is one of the best defender's in the NBA. We all saw that last year. No way is Porter a better defender than Ariza. Otto Porter at 198 pounds isn't going to get PT over him. Martell showed he's a great shooter. I don't see how Porter gets any meaningfull PT at SF with those two playing their vast majority of minutes at SF.

You're reaching so hard. Ariza and Webster are mediocre starters at best, Webster is a FA, and Ariza is on a one year deal. Porter is going to be a foundation block.

It was just said that Porter is going to be just as good defensively as Ariza is. That's simply not true. Ariza is an elite defender.

Perhaps it was Bilas, the guy that thinks Plumlee should go top 15. Since when should the water boy/male cheer leader go in the first round? Got to be the most idiotic ranking of Plumlee I've come across.

I don't. Jrue is a good player, but he's limited. He's good enough to prevent them from getting bad enough to tank for Wiggins. This was the best move for the future of the franchise.

It depends....if Andrew Bynum re-signs and Noel knees are healthy along with him getting bigger while the 76ers could possibly get a PG some how some way might not be bad.

Not saying it was a good trade because Holliday is a good PG not to mention giving up a first? but if things pan out they would have a very good Bigman core along with already a good SG depth along with Turner.

PG is there only need.

Yes - I agree about Philly.

I was saying for NO. Giving up a non-lottery protected pick + Noel? That's a lot.

WOj reports it is NO sending its 2014 pick AND NOT Philly. This is a good deal for Philly. Maybe Vasquez is going back to Philly?

Minny has a total mess of a roster. That's what you end up with when you slavishly stockpile talent instead of build a team. There is no way they are going to get fair value for DWill and the back up PG in a trade. Those guys won't get the opportunities to showcase their ability and their value will steadily decline from today on.

Burke is going to Utah. I think Minny takes Olynyk or Adams or Shabaaz at 14. Good deal for them.

Been away from the computer all evening. I just wanted to say that I can't believe EG drafted Porter over Noel. Noel would have been a perfect piece for us in the long term. The only justification would be if the doctors determined that the knee just won't handle the rigors of the NBA.
