Really loved the #9 and #10 picks and moves. Burke and McCollum are ballers with tremendous upside, Minny made the best of a bad situation, ditto Utah supposedly, and the Blazers get a legit stud at 10 who was rumored to have climbed into top 6 consideration.

This draft is a mess. It's like every lottery team but the Wizards and possibly the Cavs are trying to make the playoffs next season.

Well, maybe EG knows his medical staff is so bad that it would ruin Noel :)

Seriously, you are right on the money Nate.

Other teams that could have used Noel passed on him. League must have heard something bad about his wheels. He wouldn't have dropped so far otherwise.

Can we just be happy with are pick? I wanted Noel but something must be wrong if so many teams pass up on him.

Burke is going to Utah. I think Minny takes Olynyk or Adams or Shabaaz at 14. Good deal for them.

Yep, they wanted a great 2 with a sweet stroke, and he went to Detroit at 8. So they had to pull the trigger on the best commodity to trade. If its for 14 and 21, they can get great value at both slots. This draft has a lot of value from about 8-25 as ive been preaching since February. That's its strength. Minny parlayed a bat situation, into possibly two nice pieces that will fill needs.

That is a GREAT trade for Philly! They can tank for Wiggins.

Wait, NO is giving up their 1st; not Philly?

Both Utah and Minny did great with that deal. Utah couldn't have ended up better, and that's a good way to turn water into potential wine for Minny.

So what exactly are the details of the Philly/N.O. trade. Holiday and what, for Noel and what?

Yeah, he is a perfect fit for them. Smart FO. They realized Deron was gone and got their frontcourt of the future for him.

I'll take at least partial credit for calling that trade. Before the Wiz "won" the lottery, I called for trading the pick to Utah for 14 and 21 - so that Utah could take Burke.

Wow, so Noel dropped AND had to have a future pick thrown in to get Philly to trade for him? Yeah, no thanks. Not taking that risk.

That's not enough justification for me. All reports said Noel's knee was fine. It seems like Ernie wanted to save his job because he knows he can't afford to bust another pick. I didn't even like the Porter pick if Noel WASNT available.

I was livid for a while because someone reported that Philly gave up holiday and a 2014 pick for noel. It was the other way around. Philly got Noel and the 2014 pick for Holiday, which isn't a total raping. Philly tanking HARD for 2014.

BTW Shane Battier is so dreadfully disgusting on TV. He should be fired before the end of the draft.

It's probably the best they could do in that situation. They're looking at back ups anyway they go at that point. We'll see what they do with those two picks.

This board is f*cking insufferable.
