Just the fact that our head coach has any idea who this guy is makes me giddy as hell.

I should add that I like this pick, seeing that someone will bump this post in two years (maybe even me). I think Sergey was the guy to get, though.

Drew actually said verbatim, "at the beginning of this process, I'll be honest, I had no idea who this kid was".

RT @Paschketball: Larry Drew says Giannis is "very rangy and can really defend. You can tell he really wants to learn. He can really be a great player."

Wow, if only Larry Drew was Tobias's coach and not Skiles/Boylan(just to compare the present situation to the previous one). Talking about being patient with Giannis.

Of course our HC claims to know who he is and love him. Of course Hammond would say he was at the top of our board. What else do you expect them to say?

I don't meant to be so crude, but maybe they would stop feeding us the same bulls*** over and over again if some of you wouldn't be so eager to consume it.

Not sure I can take Drew seriously when he says he's the most skilled. If he's the most skilled, is young, and that length, he would've gone number 1.

Larry Drew said he "honestly, didn't know who he was before the draft"(obviously, not tonight but this pre-draft process. He's been candid. You're overreacting.

Love it.

Going to need a nickname for him though, don't want to say/type that name all the time.

He never had a chance to play against top level competition, that's why he went where he did, doesn't really have anything to do with this physical tools.

Obviously it's all speculation at this point, but I wouldn't be surprised if Giannis was an attempt to replace Tobias. Except Giannis has way more length, looks entirely more explosive, and seems to actually be able to dribble.

Chill out man. Who exactly were you looking for at that pick?

I was wondering the same thing, when Hammond opened up by stating that "we'd been watching him since ...(sometime in december, may have said christmas or a specific time but I don't recall precisely).

I think its a blah pick in otherwise weak draft. Here comes Smith our new SF.
