I said before the draft I would be upset if we took Zeller at 4. I am not in love with the pick, but after seeing Bennett off the board, Oladipo off the board its not as bad.

Essentially in my mind we only selected him over Len and McLemore, who both had big question marks. Len with his injury and McLemore and his attitude. I would say we may regret not taking McLemore, but luckily he went to Kings so he will never develop.

Zeller fits with Biyombo pretty well tho. His height covers Biz shortness at the Center, his jump shot helps spread the floor, he runs the floor so he fits our up and down style, he gives the post scorer we need, and Biz helps in Zellers weak spots like rebounding and blocking shots.

I like this pick because we still have zero perimeter shooting threats and thus major spacing issues. We will definitely be right up there for Wiggins.

In the meantime, this offense is going to struggle to put up points and bore the hell out of fans. They revolted at Time Warner Arena.

I think many are ready to see a flashy player with star quality and that's just not Cho's style.

He finally has a post player with a great basketball IQ.

Higgins just needs to keep quiet and collect his paycheck.

i love the fact that our team is built around hard working, smart, high character gym rats. we have to build the culture here. i want our franchise to be known as the the place where slackers and knuckleheads will either get in line or be gone. we were never going to find out superstar in this draft.

@bobcats: "Cody has ability to become a stretch forward, shooting from the 3. In this day in age you need one, and I think he'll evolve into that."

sign dunleavy, henderson and mcroberts in free agency.

pg: kemba / sessions / pargo
sg: henderson / gordon
sf: mkg / dunleavy / taylor
pf: zeller / mcroberts
c: biyombo / haywood

we are still painfully thin up front though. need to add a 3rd center for sure.

best comparison i have heard for zeller is tom chambers

chambers biggest strengths were:
- transition offense, fantastic dunker and devastating on the break
- great in pick and roll/pop
- great mid range game

similar weaknesses
- not terribly long
- never a great rebounder for a power forward
- struggled a bit under the basket

sounds a lot like zeller to me

@rick_bonnell: Rich Cho says drafting Zeller will impact free agency. As I take that, Mullens and McRoberts don't have much leverage now.

That would actually seem to be a pretty balanced starting 5, no?

I'm really intrigued to see the combo of Zeller and Biyombo can do...especially with Clifford and Ewing.

Biz/Mullens/Haywood
Zeller/McBob
MKG/Taylor
Hendo/Gordon
Kemba/Sessions
+plus a FA shooting guard. Looks good, which might actually be a bad thing.
investigate Adam Silver
