It's not happening man. I want that to happen too but the fact that the HC of the team just said he wants Gortat to develop Len means he's staying. I can only imagine the turmoil it would cause if the HC and the GM aren't on the same page.

They are on the same page. But perhaps that was a tweet to soften a possible blow to Gortat's ego in case a trade didn't come to fruition.

Now Portland takes Withey. Maybe we traded Gortat and something else for McCollum and Withey....or Crabbe and Withey? Or Jerrett?

I don't know....odd for Portland to have Meyers Leonard AND Withey and Crabbe and McCollum. But I guess with Lillard, Batum and Aldridge it gives you options at the other spots...but does Aldridge want to stay with rookies? He wants to compete.

Man Memphis loves going for those underrated SGs. Last year it was Tony Wroten now its Jamal Franklin. Would be nice if we traded for either one but not happening I guess :(

That's the thing, Portland is preparing for a LMA trade. They have McCollum and Crabbe to replace LMA's scoring and Whitey to replace LMA's size. Plus they will probably get even more assets in a trade.

Because Gortat is a legit starting center in the league, and Withey is a career backup at best? And why take Withey if they have Leonard and Aldridge wants them to be competitive now or he bolts? My guess is that if they keep Aldridge, they will trade one of those young centers and one guard for a legit center......perhaps they are holding off for now because they are not completely sure about Aldridge yet. What if they are waiting for Scola to become eligible to be traded?

But I could see Gortat/Scola for Crabbe or McCollum and Leonard or Withey. But if they trade Aldridge they may just go the rebuilding route, since Lillard is young and they have Batum locked up. It probably depends on what they can ultimately get if they decide to try and trade Aldridge (meaning they will only trade for Gortat if they keep Aldridge...if they trade him, they keep all the young guys).

No, because they are 3 years away from competing for a playoff spot. They will try to build the OKC way...hoping they have their Westbrook in Goodwin, and their Gasol in Len, but those guys won't turn into those guys over night. Add a Wiggins, Parker, Randle or Gordon next year, they take another step forward if it pans out.

Rondo would just be frustrated here.

Not good when we continue taking Minnesota sg rejects...while they desperately look for a sg.

I actually really liked Malcolm Lee coming out of that draft. He was supposedly one of the best on ball defenders in the draft 2 years ago.
