Jarrett might be interesting. Raw as heck as a freshman but can shoot it as well as any big man in this draft they say, and maybe as well as anyone, period.

Babbit's replacement?

I think they must have confidence in their ability to add a defensive presence down low either through trade with the good players we drafted or the ones we have, or go for a cheap C like Dalembert.

If we can get a good vet Defensive center with pur picks and no injuries we make the playoffs no problem.

Blew it? I don't know if you can say that about any second round pick. For sure I thought Carmichael has an ingredient that Portland is definitely lacking. Muscala for offence or Whithey for defence? It's a toss up. Green was redundant when they took McCollum and took a big time shooter in Crabbe. Jarrett? They took a flyer on him. The Euro stash? Not worth discussing.

Let's be honest, maybe two of the four will make it anyways. Time will tell who emerges from the second round as a hidden gem, and I expect someone Portland missed turns out to be a legit player. That's just the way it is. It happens with first rounders as well.

Not sure he blew it but surprised they passed on Carmichael, a touch, low-post guy who blocks shots and is a real PF.

Finally someone took Kazemi. I loved watching this guy at Oregon...it's unfortunate it was only one year. He's the perfect blue collar hustle guy and would've been awesome if he was 6-10 or 6-11.

With the players on the roster and who they drafted, they must be counting on Dwight Howard coming to the Blazers to fix the defense. It is going to be ugly otherwise.

A career as a shot blocker reserve is needed on any roster. And for a 2nd? What quality veteran big could we get from a 2nd?

Also, our largest need was arguably bench scoring... Cj and most likely crabbe will be ready to contribute right away.

Darrel Arthur + a 2nd > than our 2nd. But agree it would have been nice.

I still don't get how we play Crabbe and Cj. Cj is strictly 2, we need to sign a backup vet PG. So how do we play Cj and Crabbe at backup 2 with Barton? DO we Pay Crabbe at backup 3?

I never said best, but I do think he is realistic. Also a Solid C for us.
