Roster spots is an issue right now

We have 12 guys under contract already. 100%, except Varnado where he is not guarenteed but I see coming back as the developmental big.

And we all want Ray and Bird back

That would make 14.

A big of some sort, which we all want (lets say Oden), will be 15

Is this guy worth cutting a guy like James Jones who has a guarenteed contract and guarenteed money? Thats the issue. I guess he could forseeably make the team over a guy like Varnado, but I would rather develop the big.

Juwan could retire, Joel could be traded or amnesty and Varnando better impress in summer league we owe him nothing outside of a ring. Miami needs to bring 2 young players at the end of the bench to give us some young legs from time to time. Good for the team dynamic.

I have heard this guy compared to Jimmy Butler who you had to be patient with. He is not going to play with us next year but it is a good value pick. guys we trade for usually have talent, our scouts do ok but most of the time there is no room or patience for player development.

We are participating in both summer leagues this year right? so we will see a lot of our guys and what they can offer. Lets judge then. Let me just say that we do not have a prospect like Ennis who is like a better shooting sf version of Rondo. The only thing he cant do is dribble but he can stroke the 3 and be a shut down defender.

Look how Kawei Leonard destroyed us with his long arms disrupting everything fromt he sf position... that is the dream or ceiling of what you hope from this guy but same basic mold. I know Kawei worked hard for the Spurs and you can see the focus he plays with (something the Spurs do) hopefully we can get something out of this guy ina few years.

We need to give Kenny Kadji a camp invite. He is the stretch 4/5 that we need (in terms of potential, of course).

Plus we have our own D-League affiliate now. They can sign him and we keep his rights?

I like this pick... it was sort of in the direction I wanted us to go in this draft, originally hoping (before he had all those great workouts for teams) that Timmy Hardaway Jr would go unnoticed and fall to the secound round. But yeah a long athletic wing a la kawhi leonard/Jimmy Butler, which are the new generations versions of the Bruce Bowen & Shane Battier, are more important than ever in this faster, better shooting, more athletic, more versatile evolving league... and with that being said what better culture & environment to really cultivate and bring the best out of that type of young player than having them learn directly from character high IQ guys that have done that role the best like our very Battier and Ray Allen.

Battier, Ray & Miller are on their way out this is a great time to start looking out and if the situation is right, developing for that kind of role. I think our management is more on top of ish than ever, and I say we give this dude a chance.

This kid looks like south beach would eat him alive. I'll only like him if he's a gym rat like Cole.

I like his game though but defense needs to be on point, apparently he can't really create his own shot and ball handling is weak. We need wings that can create their own shot, hit 3s and play defense.

This guy's development will be all about his set shooting. His athleticism, finishing ability, and defense are all going to be above average. He needs to be able to hit 3s consistently.

I like his chances. Guys that can shoot 80+ from the line generally have the ability to shoot well from outside. It's just about putting in the work.

No.

If you assign a guy to the Dleague they have to be on your roster.

If he isn't on the Heat roster anybody can get him, even if you run the Dleague team outright.

I think that's how it works to prevent hoarding of players, someone can correct me if I am wrong.
