I'll be honest, I didn't follow the NCAA as closely this year. Who are considered some of the best undrafted players out there?

If I was to give this draft a grade it'd be a C-.

Simply because we have no need for Solomon and he was picked too early. Then we went and sold our 2nd round pick. So now we have the same problems leaving the draft as we did coming into it. A backup PG and a backup PF.

Michael Snear and Myck Kabongo look to be the best.

Zeke Marshall, Vander Blue, Myck Kabongo, Kenny Kadji, Brandon Davies, Brandon Paul, Cj Leslie, Adonis Thomas, Jack Cooley. Several others.

Lots of draft and stash picks this year instead of borderline guys.

^ Matthew Dellavedova, played on Australian national team @ London, 6'4'' point guard, played at St Mary's. He's got more to offer than Patty Mills *.

Also, Adonis Thomas went undrafted, wasn't he rated as a potential one-and-done 1st overall pick coming out of high-school? What a fall.

Also of note, Phil Pressey of Miz went undrafted, pass-first PG who put up 19 assists in a game this season. Can see him getting a chance at summer league to run a team.

* implying Patty Mills offers anything.

Here's a decent list of prospects that could have been drafted that weren't

1) Myck Kabongo (good point guard; not a very good shooter)
2) Seth Curry (good shooter of course not as good as Steph)
3) Brandon Paul
4) Trevor Mbakwe
5) Phil Pressey
6) Khalif Wyatt
7) Adonis Thomas
8) C.J. Leslie(Some had him in the first round in mocks)
9) Christian Watford
10) Brandon Davies
11) Matthew Dellavedova

Also, with all that happened for Portland, it now looks like they will NOT tender a qualifying offer to Eric Maynor and he will be an unrestricted free agent this summer. Could be another target.

I didn't realize so many went undrafted... Some definite possible undrafted signees.

That said, if we were high on any of these guys, we would've taken them with our 53 pick. I don't think we will end up sighing any of them, to be honest.

I am not upset that they didn't use or buy second round pick as I read it as saying options weren't good enough to help as rookies. Expect fa signings.

After reading the link to the Arizona Wildcat chat board it was good to see how beloved Solomon Hill is. He seems a lot like Draymond Green except he's made the conversion to playing the three already. It will be interesting to see if he turns into a more serviceable player in the long run than Green.

One thing else to note - a big advantage of drafting a 4-year senior is that he's more in his 'prime' during his rookie deal. You draft some 19 year old, his prime comes during a much more expensive later contract, and often on a different team.

This guy, if he's ready to contribute quickly, you have a cheap potential rotation player for 4 years along with this crew. I mean, the Pacers certainly didn't want to draft some long-term project - what's the point? sit him on the bench for the next 3 years?

I'm glad they went with a guy who was the core dude on his team.
