Re: Discussing Other Teams' Moves Part 2
I thought the NBA instituted a policy where no team can trade 3 of their first round draft picks in one deal. I seem to remember that it was viewed as a way to protect stupid teams from themselves. Does anyone know if this was changed in the most recent CBA? It sounds like the Nets need to be protected from themselves in this situation.

You can't trade consecutive future first round picks. So you can send three picks, it's just that they need to alternate years.

What is Denver thinking? Koustas is a decent center and they got nothing for him. I wish we had gone after him.

I'm having a hard time keeping up with this, but with the Wizards trade, are the Sixers now adding all of MCW, Wolters, and Pierre Jackson? Seems like overkill. Maybe I missed a trade somewhere.

Wolters is on the move to the Bucks...

Sixers are in the "We effed up on that Bynum trade, hit the restart" mode. Getting Noel could end up being amazing luck for them, while bringing in replacements for Holiday, and it's a great tank roster for next year, with tons of cap space the following year. Did you catch what they got for Wolters?

Saw a tweet by Andy Katz, but he did not say what they got for Wolters...
Another trade I saw: Kosta Koufos traded by Nuggets to Grizzlies for Darrell Arthur and 55th overall pick.

Griz got him cheap. Why couldn't we have sent Seraphin + 54?

Now it looks like The Sixers sent pick #42 Pierre Jackson along with Holiday to the Pelicans (it's going to take me a little minute to get used to that name). They still have Vasquez on the roster?

Vasquez seems like the perfect combo guard we have been looking for. NO is looking to win now, they need wing help. I'd see what I can get for the General.

How about General Greivis for Field Marshall Jan?

Re: Discussing Other Teams' Moves Part 2
I don't think New Orleans is in win-now mode at all. Yes, they traded 2 1st round picks, both likely in the top 10. But they acquired a 23 year old allstar PG. They are absolutely a much better team in the short-term, and possibly in the long-term, but that doesn't mean they're in win-now mode. They'll be patient.
With that said, I thought the same thing after they acquired Jackson. Now they have Jackson, Vasquez, Rivers (more of a SG than PG and they know it), and Brian Roberts. They might be able to keep them all for now and make it work, but it might also be a good opportunity to acquire one of them, most likely either Vasquez or Roberts.
Both players are quite solid, and very cheap for the time being. I'm not sure what it would take to acquire either, but Jan Vesely and/or Chris Singleton are not going to be enough, I can tell you that much.

That trade is one of the strangest I've seen in a long time. Sounds like Denver is being run by an insane asylum - showing no interest in keeping their GM and coach, and this is what they end up doing. I like the Shaw signing, but... how do you justify essentially giving away a good young 7 footer on a cheap contract?

Re: Discussing Other Teams' Moves Part 2
Because they are clearly committed to getting McGee a lot more minutes. The Karl firing seems to be largely the result of his use, or lack thereof, of McGee. Darrell Arthur is not a bad player at all, but I do wonder how they balance the minutes at PF between him, Randolph, and Faried. Also, Mozgov is a restricted free agent this summer, and it was previously believed he was a goner because they already had McGee and Koufos, but now it's definitely a possibility that they bring him back, solidifying their big man rotation.

Rondo to Dallas? Depending on who they send out, they might still be able to go after Howard.
Thoughts on other teams that could be interested in trading for Rondo?

I was thinking about this exact thing on my drive home today. It's a surprisingly small list...and also difficult to gauge Rondo's value now that it's clear he's next to leave. I thought Boston sold short on the Pierce/Garnett/Jet trade so I'm interested to see what Ainge asks for - especially considering he's injured.
Loads of questions on other players as well. I'd image that the contracts of Courtney Lee and Brandon Bass feel like dead weight. Wallace has a nasty contract too so any Rondo trade would perhaps involve one of them. Also - what are their feelings towards Jeff Green?
I think Dallas would be perfect and as you mentioned LR as they have a few expiring assets to use and enough cap space to absorb a longer term contract and still sign Howard.
A couple other teams I thought of:
Atlanta - didn't they just draft the German Rondo? He'll be mentored by the perfect role model and take over in a couple years.
Detroit - I don't think they're convinced Brandon Knight will work out. Monroe and Drummond off the table. Do they have sufficient assets? They have a ton of expirings and as of now, have enough cap space flexibility to absorb longer term salary.
Houston - Rondo/Beard/Superman. They definitely have the assets to pull this off and sign Howard.
Knicks - They would love Rondo but I don't think have the assets. Just had to put them here for fun.
Orlando - Is Rondo willing to work with the very young roster? How would he fit next to Oladipo? Orlando have the luxury of Jameer Nelson on the roster until Rondo gets back.
Sacramento - Rondo and McClemore would make for a nice back court. He'd make DC better too. They have a few assets as well centering around Tyreke perhaps.

Dallas has nothing to send what do you mean it depends? They have no young assets to send for Rondo and should be ashamed for even considering they have a chance,
