Boston-New Jersey blockbuster: CBA issues?

Post#1 » by DBoys » Fri Jun 28, 2013 9:17 am

Deal as reported will be
KG, Pierce, and Terry (with 7.5% kicker)
for
Hump, Wallace, Evans, Joseph, and a s&t of Bogans (and picks)

In working through the matching, I'm left wondering which of these is true
a - Bogans will get a GIANT raise to around 4M (from minimum) with a base year reduction in matching value
b - another player or two in addition to those above (perhaps Brooks?) will be going from Nets to Boston
c - they have overlooked base year issues for Bogans, or the 125% limit (not 150%) for Nets, or the trade kicker for Terry, or ...?

Also, do they intend to create a deal for Bogans at a salary level that will have them asking Terry to waive his kicker, and what happens if he says no.

Am I missing something here? Or does anyone have different players being swapped, such that those issues are erased?

I await your wisdom.

I have Brooks instead of Evans, but it works on Trade Machine:

I didn't see info on a kicker for Terry anywhere though, are you sure he has one?

The trade checker messed up the calculation ...unquestionably ...so the question isn't answered. The trade checker is allowing Brooklyn to trade using 150%, and that's a clear mistake. (I wonder if the teams fashioned their trade using a trade checker that made the same blunder?)

My source for Terry having a trade kicker is shamsports. I trust he's correct.

So I'm back to needing answers to my full set of original questions again.

PS - I have heard Bklyn is sending Brooks INSTEAD OF Evans ...and I have heard Joseph INSTEAD OF Shengelia. Those substitutions would solve nothing on my CBA questions here.

But, if the real deal was one that included ALL of those players, then it would clearly add up. So I'm wondering if maybe the Nets are leaking a few names at a time, to obscure to all these players who is getting uprooted and who isn't. Does anyone have any indication that Bklyn might be sending ALL, other than my CBA curiosity on the deal?

Just checked SI as well, and they report it as the Nets also giving up "players to be named later", so I'm thinking that from your original post, assumption 2 would be correct. No idea who though
