But to be serious, what could NY give up? I thought Boston wants to tank, not sure if they'd take a big contract, they already did with Wallace (well soon). They probably would want Iman, Chandler.

Chandler to team X
Rondo lee bass to nyk
Shump expring from team x, shump to Boston? Or multiple picks insyead of shump.

I believe lee and.bass are on thr books for three more years.

Rondo has a team friendly contract, so I doubt they trade him. If they do, it would take a lot more than iman Shumpert and some picks

What could New York offer that would be worth Rondo?

He may not be a focal star, but he's still a value player. The Knicks would love to get him, but this feels like the usual New York fodder, the name of the franchise involved in any player of possible interest even when there's just about 0% probability of them actually acquiring said player.

THIS I love and makes a lot of sense. If Rockets can also land Howard they will be a force in the West. I think Rondo and Harden complement each other perfectly, as does Howard in the paint.

Rockets could also put together a nice package for the Celtics.

Rondo can't shoot, and Howard has done best with shooters over his career

He hasn't really played with a great pick and roll pg other than Nash, and it worked out badly. Not saying it won't work, but its far from a sure thing.

is there a realistic scenario where they could land both rondo and howard?

Don't really think Lee is that bad that we need to get rid of him. Id rather keep Rondo til next offseason and maybe try to package him with our 2014 pick if somebody with one of the top 3 picks is willingly to trade down. Or alternately, trade Rondo for Cousins and unprotected 2014 pick.

I knew this was coming. Why keep him at this point?

Would love to see Rondo+Howard on the Rockets. Give us Lin and Parsons, and maybe T-Rob. Take Bass and Lee, too.

Could the Rockets still sign Howard to a max contract if they trade for Rondo? They do have the pieces for it...T-Rob in green very soon?

Trade Asik and picks for rondo and sign Howard outright. They have the flexibility

Rockets have a lot of young players to move. Could be interesting.

I don't think Lee or Bass are bad players. But in a rebuild they need to look to move contracts.

A person with less than 1,000 followers made this tweet, stop giving him the attention he clearly doesn't deserve.

With the new CBA the salary floor is like 90%, so you still need to have SOME guys on the roster that make money, but aren't good enough to screw up the tank.

NYK makes no sense IMO. They'd be trading their whole team to division rivals... Also NYK have nothing to give up.

HOU makes A LOT more sense! I think something like

Rondo and Green for Lin, Parsons, Asik, Trob, 2014 HOU 1st makes some sense

Rondo
Harden
Green
Motiejunas
Howard

is DOMINANT

and

Lin
Bradley
Parsons
Trob, Sully
Asik

Is a decent rebuild core

I'm not so sure this rebuild is going to take that long. Won't be surprised if C's are in 2015 and/or 2016 playoffs. I don't think the C's need to dump any decent players they have. I think Bass has value to a contender and wouldn't mind trying to get a young player or pick for him. I think Lee was a pretty good player before his injury. Won't be heart broken to see him go but C's need good players when they come back into contention and Lee has 3 more years left on his contract.

How old is rondo? Like 27?

Hell if Boston was smart they would trade him for the best package of young guys and draft picks available ... No reason to keep him around at this point ..... Don't think the Knicks have much to give tho ..
