but i do agree, those are lofty comparisons and would be tough to get to that level.

The next time he blocks a shot with his forehead will be the first time. Height is less important than length and he loses to both there. Also like I said there was a reason his numbers surprised it is because they did not really show during his playing time.

I really doubt we drafted Zeller to block shots. We already have Bismack and MKG filling that role.

Thats like knocking Cleveland for drafting Bennett because he doesn't block shots well.

I do not think we drafted him to be a shot blocker but I am saying his length will really hurt his defense. As much as I am not sure Bennett can play the 4 he has proven he is a decent shooter which Zeller never has. His length will hurt what he has done in the past which is score inside. He has a long way to go to become a stretch to midrange 4 that people seem to think he is going to be.

For as bad as I initially felt about his drafting I would take 14 and 7 right now and run!

No gamechangers this summer. We need to be bad thru next year's draft. We need Wiggie, Parker, or Randell in tow before commiting to a player who would automatically make us a playoff contender. All the more reason for you guys to chill out about Zeller.

bobcats frontcourt is so thin that zeller will have all the playing time he can handle to make a position change and tweak his game for the NBA. mullens possibly won't be back, biyombo will probably be a 5, and who knows about mcroberts. haywood? no way. i'd wager the bobcats will even find at least one more big in free agency.

I don't think we land a top 3 pick. I think we will pick around 6-7 and go for a Gary Harris or Aaron Gordon.

That would be terrible and Gordon is projected top 3-4 by a lot of publications but it is early.

I would almost rather have the worst record to guarantee one of the Top 4 but the Top 2 are very intriguing between Wiggins and Randle.

I'm kinda tired of the losing. I know its for the best, but when I'm watching its impossible for me to want them to lose. I was thrilled when we started 7-5 last year. Felt great to see them win. Then all hell breaks loose. Again.

Pooty, you have to realise that aside from Orlando the eastbottom feeders all got better. We will be a bottom team again baring a splash in free agency.

I think we win 30-32 games. Just my opinion.

If we resign Hendo and McRoberts I cannot see more than 25 wins. We have not really improved yet and have to readjust to a new coach.

Just try to handle the losing for one more year. If we win the lottery next year, our NBA futures power rankings goes from 30 to 3 or 2.

zeller has to translate that athletic ability to the court. There is a reason people were shocked by his results. It does not currently show when he plays.

Agreed. Make no mistake, he doesn't wear cement shoes, but he doesn't impact the game as athletically as people believe because of his combine results.

BigSlam wrote:Why are some poster SO sure he can never be an all star?

If guys like LMA and Bosh can be all stars, why can't Cody?

I don't think those comparisons are any better. Neither of them plays like Zeller and both had a lot more talent coming out of college. Plus, many people expected Bosh and Aldrige to become all-stars.

We are going to have to out-tank the Celtics, Sixers, Magic, Bucks, Pelicans, Suns, Jazz, Blazers, and Kings, and potentially the Mavs, Pistons, and Hawks. I could see a few those teams just straight up dumping out their rosters to head straight for the bottom. How many of those can we possibly out-tank? The Celtics and Sixers are both going into next year with next to nothing, the Mavs could very well have nothing of value but Dirk, and several of those other teams are still putrid. I still think we would've won 30+ games last year if not for Dunlap and his tanking strategies. Now add in a better coach, Zeller, and improvement from all our young guys. Where do we fall? If we're serious about getting Wiggins, expect some 10-20 game phantom injuries from everyone and some ridiculous rotations.

celtics with a core of rondo, bradley, green, bass, wallace, olynyk, brooks, melo and sullinger is still maybe a 30 win team. if they trade rondo though, watch out.

pelicans definitely arent tanking with holiday, gordon, aminu, anderson, davis, lopez and vasquez. thats solid 40 win team easy.

Were not going to get Wiggins... Ridiculous to talk about it the day after the '13 draft.
