Nate deserves to go out and get his big pay day, his first of his career after bouncing around from team to team practically ever season. That said, he played himself out of our price range, and it happens. If anything, if you're a guard or big man and looking for an opportunity to play for a good team, and showcase your talents in a big market where you'll be winning, the Bulls would be a desirable place to play.
Why so serious?

In the sense that I don't think either player can be effective playing off the ball, and I think Robinson destroys you on defense if not matched up with very strong perimeter players, I think it's likely that he and Rose would not form good lineups together. If that's the case, then paying about 8-9 million for him this year in salary + tax seems a bit extreme for a guy who's slated to largely be a backup, and oh by the way, you have two other backups on the roster at his position already.

Like I said, I'd like Nate back, he was my favorite player on the team last season, and I was absolutely thrilled when we signed him in the off-season last year as I've always liked him. I wish things would work out, but it's pretty clear why they won't. If you could ditch Hinrich to make room for Nate (both roster and salarywise) then I think it'd be a great decision, but I don't know if that's possible and doubt the Bulls are willing if it was.

I thought Bulls overpaid for Hinrich last year...didn't understand that. Jerryd Bayless signed for 3mil last year an is WAY better than Hinrich. He would of had a huge year in Chicago too

Well they needed a PG and Hinrich took less to come here, so I guess what can you do?

I wasn't/am not a of the signing either, but it worked out pretty well when Kirk was healthy. I think 4 million was a bit much, but he was going to get an extra year from Milwaukee, so it's hard to argue too much about the deal.

We should do a petition to bring him back or the season is a wash.

Screw management if they don't bring him back!!

I never thought I would say these words... but here I go... the only way we beat Miami next season is with Nate coming off the bench to light up Miami when Rose is on the bench. They finally find a guy who can spell Drose and they can't afford him. wtf. I feel like this FO has awful luck in which they created for themselves. I wanna punch my freaking fat benny the bull stuffed animal to death.

They won't do that.

Like I mentioned last year, Nate was nothing more than a 1 year stopgap. He kinda grew on me this past season, but the Bulls never had any intention of keeping him, IMHO.

can't we just keep 13 guys on the roster next year?

Its not a lot but it would help a little bit.....sign a couple 10 days contract if we need depth help

Chicago Bulls Rumors ‏@chicagobullsbot 7h
Chicago Bulls I doubt Marco Belinelli returns. Still a chance they make Nate Robinson an offer. Then minimum salaries. (Source: Mike McGraw)

Perfect summary of my position. I was as big a Nate backer as any here, yet I'm nonplussed at how many are surprised/mad that he likely won't be back. The unfortunate fact is, the situation just doesn't work out.

get your mind out of the gutter!

back on topic though. i just do not see how the Bulls can feel comfortable walking away from Nate when he had the year he did and would be even more effective running the 2nd unit when Rose needs rest.
we need shooting and even with Snell and Murphy in the fold we still need more and Nate can create his own offense.

Return to Chicago Bulls
