scoobs07 wrote:Greetings, Clips fan here. What do you think of the following trade scenario?

Magic get: Eric Bledsoe, Nicolas Batum and Joel Freeland

Blazers get: Deandre Jordan, Caron Butler, Tobias Harris, 2014 1st (the worse of Orl, Den, NY picks), 2016 1st Orl (lottery protected) and 2017 Clippers 1st (unprotected)

Clippers get: Aldridge, Afflalo and Leonard

Why for Magic?

1.You put a good, young exciting team on the floor this season. Batum is better three point shooter and defender then Harris.

2.You still most likely have a lottery pick for next season where you will be in the hunt for Andrew Wiggins

Roster could look like this:

PF-Nicholson
SF-Batum
C-Vucevic
PG-Bledsoe
SG-Oladipo

That is a young, long, athletic starting 5. It's a good plan for rebuilding. This trade might need some fine tuning, but I think the 3 teams could make something happen. What do Magic fans think?

Harris is going nowhere.

I must say I am really proud of my fellow magicians to maintain their class and be this respectful in politely rejecting your offer as Tobias was mentioned. loooool. We dont take trades involving our best player very well here in this forum.

This is ridiculously bad for us.

We are giving up:
Harris, Afflalo, a 2014 1st, a 2016 1st.
for
Batum, Bledsoe and Joel Freeman???????

Afflalo almost should gets us Bledsoe alone....
So its Harris and two 1sts for Batum and Joel Freeman????

I wouldn't trade Harris straight up for Batum (esp on that contract), let alone adding on two 1sts..

the only difference between batum and Hark is batum is a Much better shooter than hark but not worth the difference in salary.

would make more sense for us to be getting Deandre Jordan to pair with Vuc than getting Batum

No. It's horrible. Batum is a rich man's Moe Harkless. He is exactly what Moe will be if he gets his open 3pter more consistent and plays more focused/determined on defense.

Except Batum is making 11mill per (and hit his max).

I was just pointing out that Oladipo got the similar type of treatment as that post on Beasley=Charles Barkley, Antawn Jamison, Shawn Marion, Carmelo and Oladipo=Jordan, Wade, Igoudala, Tony Allen.

In my comment did I use the names Wade Jordan and Iggy? No I don't think he will be that good he could but prolly not my point the point is give me the hardest working player instead of the most talented with documented maturity issues
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

Guys, there's really no way to know how a rookie will pan out. Only play time will.

Sorry, didn't realize you guys are that high on Tobias Harris. How about a revised version of the deal?

Magic get: Bledsoe and Butler

Clippers get: Aldridge, Afflalo and Withey

Blazers get: Jordan, Nicholson, 2014 Orlando 1st (top 13 protected), 2017 Clippers 1st (unprotected) and 3 million cash (Clippers)

You get the PG that you covet in Bledsoe. You have two first round picks in 2014, you would just have to send Portland the worse of those picks and it would still be lottery protected. You also save money by aquiring Butler's expiring contract. Your team would look like this:

PF-Harrington/Turkoglu/O'Quinn
SF-Harris/Harkless/Osby
C-Vucevic/Davis
PG-Bledsoe/Nelson
SG-Oladipo/Butler/Moore/Lamb

Looks like a pretty good young team, and then you would have the potential to get Andrew Wiggins in the 2014 draft. In addition to that, Butler and Turkoglu's contract expire just in time for the summer of 2014. The future would look bright for the Orlando Magic after that trade IMO.

We could just hang on to our assets and throw Bledsoe an offer sheet. AA, Drew, and a 1st round pick for Bledsoe is a giant overpay.

No I didn't mean you said Oladipo was that, I wrote that he was called that by professional basketball analysts. Just like Beasley, Oladipo is being hyped up into some crazy stuff. That was my point. McLemore was never hyped up to be Jordan, Wade, or Iggy. Ray Allen was his ceiling, which is probably similar in stature to Iggy.

I didn't mean anything about hard worker or nothing, just pointing out what I thought was interesting, the hype for Beasley that someone else posted and what we saw last night for Oladipo. I guess people must thing saying McLemore's ceiling was Ray Allen is hyping him up, I don't see it that way, but understand if you do and get your point.

HELL NO! Why the hell would we trade all that and possibly our best player for Bledsoe and an OVERPAID BATUM!

Afflalo and Nicholson ALONE is enough to get us Bledsoe and Butler. I can't believe how much you people are overrating Bledsoe, all he has is the potential to be good, he hasn't proven crap!
Not changing this Sig until the Orlando Magic win a championship (Technically Started 1-30-08)

Return to Orlando Magic
