It doesn't say specifically but I assume 4s mostly since he played alongside Plumlee. He's better suited to guard 5s at this level I suspect.

Looks like a solid pick up. Hopefully he develops into a Ryan Anderson type player. From the videos and reports it seems he's very similar, and he definitely fits nicely next to either Pau or Dwight.

I've never been opposed to giving young guys some minutes, and from the looks of it neither is MDA.

Serious question, when was the last time a lakers draft pick played out? Especially on the 2nd round? Marc Gasol comes to mind, but that actually played out on the lakers and contributed?

Played out as in became an all-star caliber player or played out as in was a decent contributor? Latest All-star would be Bynum of course, otherwise I'd say Farmar.

2nd round gem would be Nick Van Exel.

To a lesser extent would be Luke Walton, which is how he got that long term contract.

I also liked the Ronny Turiaf pickup, but he left for more money to the GSW.

Ryan Kelly seems to fit in Mike D'antoni system and we need shooters, at worst he could just be another Brian Cook. If he can play defense in the NBA, even better.

Probably one of the few bright spots for having Mike as coach is his willingness to play who can contribute.

I like this pick a lot..
I think it is a dream to compare him to Dirk.
I also wouldn't compare him to Collison. Collison's niche in the NBA is erbounding and defense.
I think Ryan Kelly will be a threat as an outside shooter.
He is Duke trained so he will be a solid player and won't take bad shots like Brian Cook does.
I compare him more to a Matt Bonner type of NBA player

watching the Draft Review and Kamla, Anthony, Aldridge, these 3 idiots, discussed Dwight and not how Kelly fits with the Lakers.

Question: Since this guy is a 3pt specialist is there any chance he will get playing time in the MDA system?
If we have the exact same team as last year like Kobe suggested we should - will he get any time at all?

I'm starting to doubt we will make any changes this year??

If a 48th overall pick brings anything to the table at all, it's all gravy.

I cant get excited about 2nd round picks until they do something in a Laker uni. I always use to invest in them and then watch them be gone soon.

Hope Ryan is different.
