Re: Lakers Front office reaching out to Phil on possible ret
I think that Mitch and Jim have to moe on this.
Bring in Phil to coach. Bring Rambis and Pippen along as well.
Phil can coach all the home games and some of the away games. I think he is leary of going on extended road trips specially in the winter.
Rambis will be more than capable to run the team on road trips.
Pippen will emphasize perimeter defense.
It definitely sounds like D12's return hinges on a coaching move.
Some say that we should not appease players by removing coaches. I generally agree with that. But this case is different in that most of us agree that MDA is not the right coach to run this team in the first place.

Fisher, Odom, Walton are all out there for the min to fill out the end of a Phil bench and yes they are all better than Morris, Ebanks, and Sacre. Implementing te triangle is easy. Putting together a staff with Rambis, Pippen, Cleamons, Hamblen, Madsen, and Hodges is easy.
Chucking up that fn pride and eating that humble pie if you're Jimmy ain't buy Jerry and Kobe did because they put winning over everything when they brought him back in 05

What we do need to establish sooner rather than later is some continuity in our plans. I'd love to have Phil back though.

Never heard of this source, but if it's true ill welcome Phil anytime.
Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there wondering, fearing, Doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before;

If Dwight is trying to get Phil its hard for Laker fans to be mad when we want the same thing.
I think D'Antonie should demote himself to an assistant coach for the greatest coach of alltime Phil Jackson. D'Antonie could learn about Phils motivation and Phil and Mike could come up with an offense between the 7 secs and triangel and run different sets at different points in the game. I think only good can happen if you get great basketball minds together. Hell my dream team of coaches is
Head coach Phil Jackson, defensive assistant coach Mike Brown, offensive assistant coach Mike D'Antonie.

According to ESPN Lakers Phil will be in Montana during Dwights pitch
I think this suggest no change.
