If you are trading Deng and Boozer and pick, fine but Mirotic is not going anywhere.

Who's calling him the next Dirk? Bulls fans?
Deng and Boozer for Aldridge? Yeah, Portland does that 9/10. Fair value.
Haha first of all, where did Boozer and Deng come from? Such a step back from where we were at.
Of all the possible snags in this deal, I don't know why it would be Mirotic. If we trade Nikola for LMA, what do we need Nikola for? (We don't.) Why wait on this potential to become the next Dirk, when he could very easily
not be the next Dirk? LMA is top-flight. The only 20 PPG big man in the league, 9 rebounds, 1.2 blocks, 20.45 PER. You can't argue with these numbers. The guy is elite. This guy is better than "the next Dirk" because we're gonna have growing pains with Mirotic. LMA's ready to win a championship now.
The guys on NBA TV were talking about this last night; we have the assets to make a very strong package for Aldridge. They want Horford, Love, Blake Griffin, Joakim Noah? Good luck. For a guy that wants out? First off, none of those guys are getting traded (at least I hope not because I think the Griffin-LMA swap would make a lot of sense and Portland would probably pounce. Depends what Doc thinks he can do with Blake). Secondly, of those teams, we're the only one with alternative assets. I still think we'd be best off trying to involve Sacramento and DeMarcus Cousins (and Deng for Evans), but there might come a time when Taj Gibson, Nikola Mirotic, Charlotte's pick, and likely two other picks would be the best package they could get, and that'd be a tough one to turn down if they know Aldridge is leaving.
Bottom line, we are
so close to winning a championship; but at the same time, we're clearly not there yet. Derrick, Jimmy, and Jo are not going anywhere, but we've got the necessary pool of assets to make a deal happen for LaMarcus Aldridge. As of now, the price is too high, but so long as we know we're involved in the talks, our chances of pulling it off increase each day as Portland's asking price becomes more realistic.
