You might have liked to have him, but he wasn't available at our #38. He was picked #36.

Otto Porter
Overall satisfaction: medium-high

Players I would have drafted instead of Porter:
1. Noel

If there wasn't a serious injury concern Noel should have been the pick. If we find out there was (if the Phoenix report is accurate, for instance), Porter makes sense.

Glen Rice, Jr.
Overall satisfaction: high

In thinking about it, most didn't think Rice would still be there at #35. He may have a better chance of sticking then the folks we were debating. I'm. Giving EG a pass on this one. I would have liked more for the #54, but I bet EG tried to move up before then and had no takers.

Otto Porter
Overall satisfaction: Very High

Players I would have drafted instead of Porter:
1. Nerlens Noel

Given Noel's injury concerns, I'm perfectly happy with Otto.

Glen Rice, Jr.
Overall satisfaction: Very High

Players I would have drafted instead of Rice, Jr.:
1. Nate Wolters

Wolters would have been a great fit and I would have been ecstatic if we kept him, but I believe GRJR will be a key contributor this year and be a much more productive player than anyone else drafted after him, including Wolters.

Porter
satisfaction: very high

players I would have drafted instead: none. Otto was our guy this year. I wouldn't have pulled the trigger on Nerlens.

Rice
satisfaction: high, but second rounders don't really move the needle for me.

players I would have drafted instead

Staying put: Jeff Withey at 38, Richard Howell or Jackie Carmichael at 54. I'd rather have GRJr than any of those guys though.

Moving up: Ray McCallum or Isaiah Caanan

Just win baby!

Because he has upside. He improved a lot from Fr to So yr and put on a lot of weight. Dude's only 20, and big men take longer to develop than wings and guards. People were saying the same thing about Drummond last yr (that he didn't dominate college - even though he was a only Fr playing w/ poor passers), and he had arguably the best rookie season this past yr.

Why do people keep saying this? Drummond didn't even start last year. I don't care what his per 36 minute numbers were, if he was as good as people here keep saying, he would have beaten out Jason Maxiell and been the starter and played more than 20 minutes a night.

Lillard was far and away the best rookie last year. He became the man for his team from day one and he played over 3,000 minutes, at least a thousand more than any other rookie. He was the run away ROTY for a reason.

Then it was probably Davis and then probably Beal. Put Drummond in the starting lineup from day one and have him play 30+ minutes a night and he would have been exposed.

Agreed. Len was the one guy in the top seven I didn't want. I didn't want Dipo or McLemore either, but I think they're good for teams that needed a SG.

Len didn't even make Third Team All ACC. There were two NBA Cs in the ACC this year...

Otto Porter
Overall satisfaction: very high

Players I would have drafted instead of Porter:
No one, I wanted Porter or Bennett

Glen Rice, Jr.
Overall satisfaction: high

Players I would have drafted instead of Rice, Jr.:
1. Erick Green-Va Tech

I felt Green would have gave us the backcourt scoring punch we needed. But I am happy with the Glen Rice Jr. pick if he can stay out of trouble

Otto Porter
Overall satisfaction: high

Players I would have drafted instead of Porter:
1. Noel barring a clean medical report

Glen Rice, Jr.
Overall satisfaction: very high

Players I would have drafted instead of Rice, Jr.:
1. No one - the more I read and watch regarding GR2, the more I become enamored with his immediate impact and potential impact. It may just be the homer in me but I think he could be the steal of the draft if he keeps his head on straight.

Otto Porter
Overall satisfaction: very high

Players I would have drafted instead of Porter:
No one

Glen Rice, Jr.
Overall satisfaction: high
Players I would have drafted instead of Rice, Jr.:
1. Franklin
2. Wolters

Then again, I wasn't familiar with Rice Jr. before the draft. He could turn out to be a solid pro.

This became way too much of a pain in the ass to update, so unless somebody else wants to pick up where I left off, I'm just going to leave this as is, and mayyyybe I'll get around to updating the original post in a week or so. Otherwise, just don't be lame and edit your choices or delete your post once it proves to be wrong. Let's all be men, for once.
