UDFA THREAD
So, who do we want to try to grab from the understaffed crop.
jackie carmichael, Vander Blue, Devin Booker, Richard Howell, Kenny Kadji and Myck Kabongo are at the top of my list. !

Re: UDFA THREAD
At first glance, there's a very solid group of players that went undrafted who I think have NBA talent and that I'd like to see the Wizards pick up. However, the Wizards made it pretty clear that they didn't like the idea of having 3 rookies, so I'm skeptical about us actually picking anybody up. I mean, I'm sure we'll have some summer league and training camp invites, but the top UDFA are probably going to be signed by other teams, IMO.
However, if we are willing to sign another rookie, I'd tentatively be interested in Carmichael, Southerland, Marshall, Pressey, and Kabongo. I feel like Carmichael and Southerland are distinct possibilities mostly because we brought them in for pre-draft workouts. Then I think Pressey and Kabongo would make a lot of sense, even if we plan on signing a veteran free agent to be our primary backup PG (Price?), just for the sake of some healthy competition. I also think Pressey and Kabongo are quite talented, and belong in the NBA.

Sure
Jackie Carmichael Is going to be a good NBA player possibly a starter, His game and numbers are reminiscent of Paul Millsap, He rebounds really well and he is a really nice defender, he is strong and NBA ready, and i think his offence can translate well enough to earn him time over Jan Vesley.
Vander Blue has good size, and he is a decent defender and he may not be a great distributor, but he can score and as an undrafted free agent i would love to take a flyer on the kid and see what happens. and hes young!
Devin Booker is a nice big beefy forward. he can rebound when he puts forth the effort and he may not be a great defender, but I like his offence. for a cheep UDFA pick up I would not mind getting him if we loose out on Carmichael.
Richard Howell is a great rebounded and an ok defender. hes got an offensive game but its not the best. he could be a reggie evens type guy and I will take that all day as an UDFA.
Dewayne Dedmon- Hes old, has little offence, and hes old. But he can defend. really well. i would consider him if we loos out on some other players
Kenny Kadji is older than Deadmon But, he is a better offensive player, and he can also defend and score. He also has great size.
Myck Kabongo Should have gone in the early second late first, the kid is going to be a steal for some one, why not us!
Also.
Brandon Davis and Zeke Marshall. they both can score and defend and block pretty well. They had nice NBA center size at 6-10 and 7-0, since center is a need of ours, I feel like they both have a chance to make the team.

I thought this was a typo the first time you said it, but now I'm just confused... who is Devin Booker? The Devin Booker I know is a senior in high school, the son of Melvin Booker, and he's going to be the next Steph Curry, IMO. But as far as current NBA draft prospects, I can't think of a Devin Booker, or even a Booker for that matter.

That's Trevor's younger brother.

... okay let's just move along then. He isn't even in DX's top 100 prospects.

He's the more effective offensive player of the two I think. Better size and righty. Life is easier when you're righty.

Given EG's comment that he doesn't want any more dayum rooks coming here - that two is enough - I'd be shocked if anyone like a Carmichael agreed to come here.

Really want us to bring in Zeke Marshall, becoming increasingly restless about the lack of planning for that position...

Re: UDFA THREAD
I wouldn't put too much stock in what eg said about 3 rookies. I think the 2nd round trade was the aim of that statement.
I think bringing in a couple NBA ready role players would be a good idea. If it works out you have a role player for a couple years on the cheap. If they don't they can be cut in camp.

Yeah Zeke Marshal and Jackkie Charmichel would be just about perfect.

Well, every one passed on him, if he liked the wiz he might come here if we impressed him enough durring the work out.
Plus here is a nice list.

Re: UDFA THREAD
Jackie Carmichael, Zeke Marshall, or Trevor Mbakwe.
Wingspans:
John Wall---6' 9.25"
Bradley Beal---6' 8"
Otto Porter---7' 1.5"
Trevor Mbakwe---7' 4"/Jackie Carmichael---7' 1.5"
Zeke Marshall---7' 5"
Where's the harm in bringing in such big men who actually care about playing defense and playing up to their size? The length of the team would be ridiculous. The interior defense could be set up for success for a long time with the addition of one or two of these players.
Top 10 defense for a minute.

Marshall had a mid-first round grade in YODA. Several statistical markers to suggest he could make a successful NBA player. To me, it's a no-brainer to bring him to summer league and training camp to at least see how he'll compete.

The only 2 I'd bring in would be Zeke Marshall and Jackie Carmichael. Their respective skill sets fill a need.

Re: UDFA THREAD
I posted a lot about Jackie Carmichael as a pick so if you can bring him in and send he to the DL, I would do it.
I think the young man if basically Kevin S but with more focus. It would be great insurance if Kevin doesn't work out or if you end up trading him down the road.

I have to be honest. I know he is almost useless, but I want DJ Stephens. Sub 3.0 second sprint and a 12'5.5" Max vert. Sign and stash him in the D-league. Bring him out for the dunk contest.
